Has anyone in Pinellas had issues with reception of the Weather Channel this morning ?

I do most of my storm following on Storm2k, but sometimes turn on TWC close to landfall (although often with captioning and without the volume to avoid the hype and fast talking)

This morning we have been getting black screens and other issues. Two sets are now tuned to TWC. One has been showing a still picture of Jim Cantore for quite a while. The other is showing Nickelodeon.

Intensifying storms are another breed as Michael proved in the Panhandle…praying for Jamaica! :(

I was watching Fox Weather and they had pretty good coverage

Will likely landfall with winds of 190+ MPH, pressure sub 888-890.

This thing is intensifying right up until landfall, we just aren't going to have the data

We might get peripheral data that can be used to calculate. But I agree it is intensifying right up.

I'd say at this point any landfall MSLP estimates we get will be from storm chasers.

My posts are my own personal opinion, defer to the National Hurricane Center (NHC) and other NOAA products for decision making during hurricane season.

I am by no means a professional. DO NOT look at my forecasts for official information or make decisions based on what I post.

Goal: to become a registered expert over tropical and subtropical cyclones.

Agreed, and it may not be in real time either. It may take some time to get the data since they won't have power or Internet probably.

Just heard from a friend that he knows someone who has family at a resort in Montego Bay. They have them on lockdown and are bringing meals to their rooms. Supposedly the resort has starlink and enough generator fuel for 7 days.

Josh seems to be in a good position to figure out the landfall MSLP. We probably have enough data from recon to justify 190+ mph.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.
