Re: Texas Winter 2025-2026
Down to 10 degrees here and yeah it looks incredible outside. The cold and wind is definitely something else too
I'll get some more pictures towards sunrise
Norman still showing 6+ potentially for the band tomorrow night into Sunday afternoon. That'll be an amazing event if that pans out. We got a long way to go
Impressively long timeframe for sure. Like we rarely see here

I need insight please. Why is the temp only 33 in downtown Dallas….. and has been only sitting at 32 around Princeton McKinney for the last several hours. What’s going on? Marshall Tx is sitting at 29… Even Shreveport is 30. Is the UHI At play? Places further east had cooled way quicker than the heart of Dallas.

13.8 degrees and 2-3 inches of sleet on the ground. Not feeling brave enough to go out and check right now.

Still just a light rain here in Grand Prairie. Cars and metal fence posts are wet. What the heck?

Long time lurker here that’s recently moved to the Northeast but is here for the weekend. Seems like the wave of below freezing air is finally making its way across Dallas and Collin counties. The temperature near the airport looks to be dropping fast now.

Looks like winds here stayed NE and ENE which tempered the cooldown.
DFW Airport winds just shifted to NNW and temp dropped from 34 to 28 in 15 minutes.

Yeah, the main mass of cold air that’s situated to the NW is moving pretty slow. It also looks to be moving more direct north to south which is why it seems to be taking longer to hit the metro.

Snow in Texas? What’s that?
Don't use my posts as forecast; I'm not a certified meteorologist! I just endorse cold weather, alright?
All observations I note are for Temple, Texas unless otherwise stated.

@Brent - I do agree with you. It looks like the precip is actually lower due to the stuff along the coast.
Haven’t dug into it too deep but, just from looking at the HRRR some.

OKC TV station still has 8-12 well see but I'm definitely closer to 8 unless it really goes off tomorrow night Sunday morning like I haven't seen yet
I mean that would be the biggest storm still in 4 years if we get to 8 but no records

I’m fairly certain it’s snowing IMBY. Still dark hard to tell for sure but on my cameras it is flying around like snow. Side note the precipitation shield is nothing like was depicted on models so far for this morning.

It seems like the cold front is really struggling through DFW. It took about 5 hours to go from 34 to 27 here in highland village.
Looks like the dew point is holding steady at 31 in Addison. Once that starts dropping so will the temp.

Yeah think the precipitation may have been overdone HRRR shows basically scattered stuff all day and then the final push seems like it may clear out faster than once thought.
