Re: Texas Winter 2025-2026
Currently getting a moderate mix of sleet and snow in WF.The snow mixing in since last night *could* bode well for a possible quicker transition to all snow tonight.

Re: Texas Winter 2025-2026
Looks like the final wave of precip tonight should bring around 3-6+ inches of snow to much of Oklahoma and up to 1-2 inches in DFW. Some light ice accumulations could reach as far south as Houston tomorrow morning.
Still a lot of uncertainty with the next potential system Friday into next Saturday, but there's at least a low risk of snow/ice accumulations across a large part of the state with it.

It is a week away. Things can change and go back in other direction

The low looks to be there, but temps too warm for anything frozen next weekend. Hopefully that changes??

Wouldn't put a lot of stock in the models this far out regardless of what they show.

GFS is awful with these set ups. Throw it out.

Man it’s depressing in here this morning. Don’t lose the faith up there guys! If we can get measurable rain down here, anything can happen lol.

Ensembles are your best bet this far out and so expect operational models to flip around for a few days.

Swarms of finches descending upon my holly trees to eat the berries this morning. I've seen this happen right before big cold outbreaks before.

I will say this pattern is loaded for the month of February if you like more winter weather.

Twister what are your thoughts on the warm nose for NTX in the big wave tonight?

Got to get passed this event but WPC is already highlighting possibilities for late next week. Makes sense with the current pattern in place and what I mentioned late last night.

Yes, but I’m seeing a lot of maps on X that have the majority of the cold going towards the EC over the next few weeks. Hoping that’s wrong.
I will say though from what I saw the EPS looked significantly better for the central U.S. compared to the GEFS for mid February.
