24 in my backyard south of Canyon Lake. Wind is whipping and freezing drizzle has coated everything.

Main show isn’t even here yet! :froze:

On and off since 5 really. My truck windshield has an impressive glaze. Sidewalks starting to freeze over, streets not yet.

Very deceptive statement in a bunch of different ways.

And who's against natural gas?

Little concerned about a sleet/freezing rain mix being reported in OKC. But, just a chaser, and probably just a brief warm pocket.

I just have nightmares from last year where it kept going from freezing rain to sleet and you would think it would stay, then it went back to freezing rain. Ugh.

HRRR now has trace ice IMBY. It has stopped trending colder as runs this morning were doing and it ends rain faster. I suspect a trace to a tenth is most likely but I'm still glad I went to church tonight just in case the precip takes a little longer ending Even a tenth can cause accidents. Once the freezing line passes, it stays past the rest of the day.

School is cancelled Monday no matter what happens. Further North, I'd expect the snow in places like Abilene to be heavier just looking at the radar.

Looks like we've begun the sleet encasing event across I-20 up to the Red River.

FW discussion includes tomorrow.

After this second round exits the forecast area Sunday morning,
some scattered snow showers will likely linger into the afternoon
per CAMs such as the HRRR, with potential additional light
snowfall. In addition, favorable northwest surface winds,
saturated and weakly unstable low level thermodynamic profiles,
and still-warm lake water could allow for lake effect snow near
and downwind of the larger North Texas lakes.

If I ever move, I will be looking for the south side of a lake. Lol.

LES snow is so different. It's very calm and you have huge flakes. We seem to have been getting them more frequently the past few years. We need to just create a chain of lakes right up to the Red River. They don't need to be wide.

Living south of Lewisville Lake has helped me the last couple years

Probably, might occur sooner than that maybe midnight? Anytime between midnight and 3am.

I have only snow for my area right now, the warm nose went away earlier

Been pretty disappointed in the precip this morning, lack of throughout the day, and still spotty sleet showers developing here again. Hard to get much accumulation like this. I know this evening is just getting started but really surprised by the lack of precip overall.

It gets going west, north, or east of here.

That wedge of warmer air is something. It’s 32 in Beeville, while we are stuck at 37. It’s diving south, to the west of here.

Yeah the scattered stuff up here is driving me crazy still. Like I want consistent precip

I'm definitely on the believe it when I see it on us truly getting a lot more snow like everyone is talking about
