00z 3k NAM showing widespread freezing drizzle/rain. Not much, but could be an issue on elevated surfaces.

My neighbor who owns the local coffee shop was videoing me my son and I playing, and caught me doing a pretty epic goal, as my younger brother said you're living The Glory Days. Hahaha

It's been amazing I have played more hockey in these last 3 days with my sons then I can count. It's been an awesome time!

The official high at DFW was an intra-hour 33*F, ending the below-freezing streak.

What's impressive is that still happened despite the morning starting off cloudy.

So it did this in 2003 and 2013. All that ice and light winds means freezing fog.

The only reason we ended up above freezing is because it started out cloudy. Overnight temps busted by some 10 degrees in spots.

Anyone notice the half moon is reflecting a blue-ish hue on the sky, roofs, and yards tonight? Very cool to witness that with the solid ice pack at the surface.

Lows busted big time this morning despite clear skies through at least 2-3am, as the wind had already flipped back out of the south. Only bottomed out in the mid 20s.

Busted big time for me too. Only hit 25°. Different airmass coming in, like you mentioned. Coldest air has already transitioned off to our east and DP’s rising now.

The 500mb pattern looks decent across the models in about 300+ hours out. The EPO ridge could be stronger and placed better but it’s decent. Not really seeing any big buildup of cold air yet though.

Yesterday's 18z GFS is what you want to see happen. That was nearly perfect at 500mb.

Last night's forecasted low for this morning was 11F. Looks like we only dropped to 18F. I'm not sad about it. :cold:

Guidance is strengthening the -AO starting around the week of the 10th. This is a very strong signal, with ridging -WPO and -EPO, the -AO would block a lot of cold air models aren't seeing yet (beyond range). Honestly I haven't been this confident about such a pattern in recent years. Would be shocked if it did not produce cold and/or snow.

From your lips to Gods ears. I’m looking forward to a snowy V day remember one as a kid in jr high. Can’t remember if it was 2002 or 2003. I just looked 2004 I was almost a freshman. Still remember playing in it past midnight and being so mad the temperature was rising during the night. Now I know a tad more lol.

Good for advancement. But I can't wait for every youtube and x "forecasters" to each have their own models . So many to use.

I played around with this last night. Hopefully, I'll have the S2KTX model up and running soon. The interesting part will be how customizable this will be by users.

Make sure to bias correct it for a little extra oomph for snow and cold. Make the blues a darker shade HEX #040273.

Block any IPs coming from the Houston area, need to keep Wxman57 out during the winter months.

Even though the weekend trough is mostly dry, got to watch for snow flurries in Oklahoma and maybe North Texas. Will be cold :cold:.
