New euro weeklies are pretty impressive, widespread cold the week of valentines with impressive blocking over the top, keeps us below average all the way through March 14th, courtesy of a prolonged - AO and the polar vortex

Harp.1 Too far to talk about that, just the pattern does look supportive for yet another dump of bitter cold air into the lower 48 sometime between the 10th-15th and likely beyond that as well

We have a few weeks at least before things may get interesting again. Most are hopeful for one more opportunity around here.

I’m pretty confident we’ll get one. Your area could get a few more opportunities. All I’m asking for is one lol it’s been 9 years since I’ve had legit snow.

Winter time post are almost exclusively focused on the DFW area.

Interesting! Not every district has closed been a select few. Dallas being the big one. But others like Arlington are noting they will be open.

The main key is ridging over Alaska to get real cold down there. If not, we won't be real cold lol.

It sounds like my area has more closed due to the rural/less-traveled road areas. Keller/Northwest/Eagle Mountain Saginaw.

Yep, there’s some ridging there on the ensembles but it’s not that strong of a signal. Plenty of time for improvements though. AO and NAO look solid.

That’s my hope. I’m right by Lake Lewisville but it’s Ray Roberts that helps me sometimes. Flizzard of 2019 comes to mind. First time in four years I’d seen snow.

Yeah my district Brock closed again as well. The streets around our house are still completely covered it’s wild. As is my yard which makes me happy.

Well Ponder ISD just closed rest of the week, 5 days no school.
I just drove to the dentist 15 min away and the untreated roads are still sleet/ice packed. My AWD got me through it, but my gosh, it's amazing how much stuff fell.

My backyard faces east and is mostly melted except for the deepest area that had a lot of drifting. Front yard is still solid. Streets melted a lot today though for the first time. I am sure I will have school Friday. I love a good snow day or even several, and even I'm getting a bit stir crazy. That's largely since it's my busy season at work. And I was one of the crazy ones who enjoyed the Covid lockdown lol.
I have a dentist appointment tomorrow at 7:30 so that will be interesting.
