I am thankful my husband roasted our turkey in the oven. Read this article! Poor guy, he was just trying to help his wife who recently had a baby:

Each year, we read about someone who is seriously hurt or damage that occurs when people try to deep fry their turkeys. I wonder if people just aren't following the directions explicitly or if these deep fryers are just down right dangerous and should be banned.

I have a policy in my house. I will get up early and do the cooking, but everyone else needs to do the cleaning. It usually works out pretty well.
Yesterday I took a nap with my 5 and 2 year olds waiting for the dinner hour, and we sat around reading stories while everyone else cleaned up.

I went with "Food." It is was usually "Family," when I lived in Massachusetts... but here in Florida, this year my parents and I went across the street with neighbor's and their friends and for a very short time around 7:00 pm Eastern, some more of their friends stopped by. So, when there were more friends than family, it is hard to go with "Family."
The weather was fine, but that didn't matter as we were inside the entire time; aside from our neighbor's lanai during the early evening.
I wasn't up for either televised parade and dislike football.

well i would have to say the family. the food was great, but without family it would have been just another big meal. i only get to see my brother maybe once a year and it was so good to see him and his family. only one problem my dog buffy didnt care for his dalmation. but we still got a big laugh out of it.
