Good evenin' everyone! I just got home from a loooooooooooooooooong day! Work, then ran to Muscatine, then up to visit my friend at Subway, and finally home! Nothing major, but I'm still ready to relax!

Work was interesting (Green Bay YMCA), I really didn't have to get in the water for my final class...out of 9 kids, only 3 showed up...and thankfully, I had a co-teacher that really needs to work on the teaching aspect of the classes, so she took them. She really needs the work, I don't. I ended up helping other teachers out and being the coordinator for the last lesson.

Amanzi...here are some pointers that works.
Play some games with him. What I mean is that you need to use your imagination. Here's how. Get down to his level as much as you can. Imagination is Key!!!
Play "talk to the fishy's, listen to the fishy's" First have him blow bubbles in the water to pretend that he is talking with the fish (if he can't blow bubbles, then tell him to blow out his birthday candle...the index finger is the birthday candle). Then when he is done talking to the fish, then have him LISTEN to what the fish have to say. For this, he needs to put his ears in the water. Don't force him to do it, just politely say "The fishy's want to tell you something", and the only way that he can listen to the fish is to put one ear in the water... then repeat for the other ear. have him count to 5 with you while the ears are in the water. Then afterwards, if he puts his ears in the water, ask him what they said. Remember to use your imagination. Sometimes I get the children to think that the fishy's are asking them to do things (ie...putting their ears in the water, faces in the water, kicking their feet, etc). Usually, the kids think they are playing games, meanwhile, the parents get to watch their children develop into swimmers. We disguise the learning by playing games with the children. Another little game that I play with the kids is "hide and seek" We ask the kids to hide their mouths from the parents, then slowly work their way up to their entire head. If he gets persistent by putting his mouth in the water without crying, then move up to the nose. Slowly keep moving up. Then if he really feels adventurous, then have him try to hide his entire head. Myself, along with other teachers, tell the kids that there is fish in the pool and the only way to see the fish is for them to put their face in the water. Try this first before he dunks his head. Have him grab onto the wall of a pool and tilt his head back. Then ask him "what is on the ceiling...do you see any birds, animals, etc" if so, tell him the only way to see them animals is to tip his head back into the water. Imagination is key here too. By doing this, he will find out that water is ok...and that putting your ears in the water is fun because you get to listen to what the fish say...and then he can talk with the fish too. Use your Imaginationas much as possible! If he does something for you, then have him show your husband the accomplishments. The more positive enforcement, the better off he will be. When I'm teaching preschool/kindergarten levels, I use so much imagination, that my co-workers (especially my boss) think that I am brainwashing the kids, but in actuality, the games serve the purpose. If that doesn't work, then let me know...and I'll give you other ideas.

Welcome, "home", Jacki!

And, good evening to ya all! Tomorrow...TGIF!!! :ggreen:

Today was only in the low 40's and overcast - they promised
us 50F and partly cloudy! Alot of disappointed folks...hopefully,
tomorrow will be warmer. Saturday is supposed to be around 68F
and mostly sunny - wahooo! Being outside will be fun. My crocuses
and hyacinths are blooming - the maple trees are budding out.
Daffodils are budding. Spring is just around the corner!

Curling up on the couch, by the stove...
Ummm...are there any more thin mints left?

Eveninig all :)

Shannon thank you so much for your advice! I am really going to try and give it a shot. I have absolutely no idea why he is so afraid of getting water in his ears (as a baby I would swim with him every day in SA, all of my family love the water) It is so strange, he has never had an accident near water so I can not understand why. I have never forced him either. He is curious about water and enjoys games in the pool. He loves to hang on to a kick board. As long as I am holding him he is fine (he will not let anyone else hold him in the water)

I have tried the blowing bubbles, but he will not put his mouth into the water. He is a very smart child who will be four in March and he can read and write already. He is not easily duped. I have a hard time with him playing imagination things so I will have to be very very creative with him...Thank you so much, and I will let you know how it goes. I am going to take him to swim this weekend and I will give your suggestions a try.

Hope everyone has a good night :)

I had ANOTHER INTERVIEW today!!! The other one is still scheduled for tomorrow unless I get an offer that I can accept from the one today. Y'ALL PRAY MIGHTY FINE!!!

I came home from getting my new crown(yes I am descended from royaltly! :D )-we are talking about my teeth though-this morning to the phone ringing. It was my headhunter telling me I had an interview at 4 pm with a firm I worked with the last half of the eighties. The only reason I wasn't still there is that I had been laid off when an engineer was late with his invoicing etc. and they were 700k in the hole(sound familiar?). I really loved working there! Anyway 14 years later I now have had another interview with my former employer that lasted a full 2 hours!! I spoke with 3 people including the VP and it was all positive IMO!!!Hopefully tomorrow I'll get the call to come in and sign off on an offer!!
KEEP ON PRAYING!!!! GOD IS MOST DEFINITELY AT WORK HERE!! HIS WILL BE DONE!!! I was so pumped when it was over that I had to calm myself down!!! I know if it is where God needs me now I will be there! If not the search will continue. I just don't want to count the chickens before the eggs hatch!!

Streetsoldier, tell Anabelle(she still be a ho)thank you for her help and to keep it going till tomorrow!! NO wait, that would empty the state of Missouri! Maybe just another good one around 11:00 when I hopefully find out what, if anything today's interview produced.

AND THANKS EVERYBODY FOR YOUR GOOD WISHES AND YOUR HELP!!

Morning Jacki and everyone else who is up! I hope you have great luck today Vb! You deserve it.

Sunshine here today and highs in the 60's. I think we have said goodbye to winter...at least I hope. I am feeling better. I got through a whole night without running a fever although I still can't sleep well, and I am someone who can sleep anywhere during anything !

Hope everyone has a great Friday. :multi:

Blech, Shannon, but that's ok, I have faith in ya, besides, your birthday party should be a payoff! hehehe

wx247....still sick? Eek! Get better! What helps me a lot is to drink lots of water, eat plenty of food (even if you don't want to!), and take a multi-vitamin!

Well, called into work, and I have to call back at noon, yippee! I am going to use it as an opportunity to get closer to 3000 posts, and do some housework!
