And in the long run, looks like CROSS-POLAR connection will be in play for the US in 10-15 days when the pattern reamplifies. Until then, there will be some serious cold building in Canada as the pattern splits, with blocking in the west pac, promoting some big high pressure formation...

Looks good. I know there have been some hinting that after Dec 15, it is going to get quite cold across the central/eastern US.
