Precip started here in Holmdel very lightly here at about 7am, for about 2 hours it was a light r/s mix, then the heavy stuff came in about 10 oclock, since then its been all snow and very heavy at that. A 15 minute period at midday was a blinding heavy snow, well below a quarter mile. Right now its still coming down very good and the winds have picked up. Im wondering how others in the county and state have lucked out thus far

Delaware Water Gap:
Moderate snow. 2" on the ground. Started about 10 am.

temp. 28

ene wind at 5mph gust to 15.

All snow from start here at around 7:30am. Very heavy convective band just pushed through w/ poss. thunder.

Oakhurst, NJ OBS....Eastern Monmouth County.

Started around 7am as light rain...changed to snow at 11-11:30am.
Temp dropped from 42 to 32.

Have about 1-2"..Currently snowing lightly.
Roads are covered w/ snow...looks like one last heavy hurrah with this first storm...will prob finish with 2-3"

Second storm looks primed to give the area a just about all snow event for late tonite into Saturday....with a chance of 6"+.

Just about 2.5-3" on the ground snow. Snow is very light and looks to be breaking up on radar. Would be nice if it fills in. Heavy precip up north now. Temp hovering around 32-33.

Any predictions for central NJ for the main event?

4PM and just about 15 minutes the very light snow (about 0.5" since noon) has picked up in intesity to a steady and accumulating moderate snow. Temp help all day at 27F and expect it will fall some with heavier precip and darkness. A solid 12" for many with quite a few making a run at 18" or so.

winds creating near whiteout...if only heavy snow was falling with a little over 6 inches on the ground, snow has trandformed through the day into the fluffy packing powder, and its already drifting in prone areas, this is fun! expect over a foot in Central Jersey
