Well some models are predicting the Aleutian Low to form by the 20th. If that happens its a classic pattern of amplification of cold air into the east, so do you guys think that will happen?
I think it will... I think we're overdue for a nice Aleutian Low setup...

So that bend in the blue ( I assume colder air) just North and East of Alaska indicates a possible development of a large low that could drag very cold air further east and southward into Southern Canada in the US on it's backside? Would that not mean that Colder air already in place in interior Canada would also be forced southward if there is no ridge of high pressure to stop it?
Forgive me. I am no weather expert --- just trying to learn. The physics involved with weather are awesome. I think I see something on a map one minute, then someone always shows me where I am off
