get any shopping done with all this tropical activity lasting almost to Christmas! :D :roll: Seriousy, though, what a bonus for all of us weather buffs to have not one, but 2 late storms settiing records and making history!

Yeah you are right dixie but dont stop shopping because Peter will be of a short duration and I dont think that after this more will come but if something more forms after Peter then I can say that the climate changes globally is the cause.

It makes me wonder if the 2003 tropical season will last until the 2004 tropical season begins. :eek: :wink:

Who knows? Maybe we'll see a repeat of Hurricane Alice in 1954. That would be a phenomenon to say the least! Hopefully not, it's time to start doing the Christmas shopping and let the tropics rest.

Note that there were 2 Hurricane Alices that year. The system wasn't discovered until January 2, 1955, so it got the first name from what was then the 1955 name list. However, post analysis found that the system became a tropical storm on 12-30-54, so it is officially listed with the 1954 list.

I was suprised to come home after work to here about this storm. I didn't even know this system was out there or had any serious potential for development. We've 3 out of season storms this year. WOW! :eek:
