Scary night last night...

#1 Postby Guest » Mon Dec 08, 2003 1:57 pm

We had one heck of a scare around 4am this morning. We woke up to the sound of our burglar alarm blaring! Chad grabbed a baseball bat and I ran off to make sure Dustin was ok. We searched the house, but nothing appeared wrong. Our alarm said the window in the living room tripped the alarm, but it didn't look like anyone had tried to break-in. Needless to say, I was a bit shaken and decided to keep Dustin in our bed for the rest of the night. I never really fell back asleep. We've had the alarm for 2 years now and this was the 1st time it has gone off. What a way to start my day!

Hopefully it was just a fluke. Nice to have those alarms though. Just think of it as a training excercise. And if someone was trying to enter, you have just paid for the security system in full and then some by it keeping you , Chad and Dustin safe.

That must have been very scary for you, Jennifer. It is a scary feeling when you think that someone may have tried to break in but were scared away by the alarm.

WOW! I am glad everything was okay! Makes you grateful that you have the system anyway!

Glad you were all safe. Alarms are really nice to have especially during the night when anything is possible.

WOW!! I am so glad that you three are okay. I believe in the home security systems. They are excellent. IMO, something bumped that window to set it off.

I would not want to be on the receiving end of Chad's bat, that is for sure. lol.

I'm not scared of stuff like that, and I don't have an alarm...I can beat them up myself. Enough said. :D

Thankfully you're OK. ;) I've always wanted an alarm, but my house doesn't seem like a burglar would want to rob it. ;)

LOL me either.. Its a pro bat autographed by Daryl Strawberry   He use to be my favorite player.. Had lots of autographs of his.. The bat being one.. But since the drugies signature isnt worth anything anymore, it just sits under my bed.. Just waiting for the day that someone DARE enter my home un-invited.. I tell you what, I would be scared of what I would do to the person.. Becuase I just dont think I would stop Swinging :grrr: :grrr:

Glad your ok :)

Jen, I have been through that more times than I have fingers to count on.. been armed men IN MY HOUSE while I have been asleep.. hubby shot at them through the door (we had an alarm panel where we could read the sensors in our bedroom)... Had burglers on the roof, burglers trying to saw through the metal burgler gaurds on the window... countless times walking around in the garden (even found my dog unconcious a few times, they sedate the dogs)..... Just glad I dont live in Africa anymore..

I know your fear.. I sleep with one ear and one eye open at all times.

Chad... well all I can say is thank goodness you didn't have to find out what you would do to a burglar!! I do not know how I would react. Yes I do too, I would get a bat. lol.

As for Strawberry.... you said it all.

Great place for Dustin to stay after such an awful event/sound. :)

Jen/Chad - glad to hear that nobody broke in. Hopefully, it was just an animal that set off the alarm.
