I agree that this is the rule and it is followed by me. But that does not mean I HAVE to like the rule.

About 7 or 8 years ago, there was a school around this area that suspended a kid for having a gun in the backseat of his car. This area is a BIG deer hunting area and he had gone hunting before school that day because school was starting late for some reason(maybe fog, I can't remember). Anyway, a teacher found the gun when she realized he left his headlights on and she decided to turn them off for him. I guess he should have locked his doors. I agree it was dumb on this kid's part to bring a gun into the school parking lot, however he said he just forgot that he left it in there because he was in a hurry to go home and change after hunting to go to school. A gun is more serious than Advil, so thats a tough situtation. BTW, he was suspended FOREVER from the school district!! It took him 2 years to find a school that would enroll him and allow him to finish his education. The sad part was he was a senior that year too, so instead of graduating 6 months later, it was more like 2 and a half years later.
