Speaking of tree lights, has anyone seen those new LED low-power lights that were talked about briefly on FoxNews a couple of weeks ago? :?:

Shawn - thanks for that old article. Makes me even more careful now. I swear I never knew xmas light cords could contain lead.

Bill - no, sorry. Didn't see that segment.

Garrett - I throw all the boxes away too. That's why I really have no idea if what we have is safe or not. I do know that when the holiday season is over, my daughter is taking down her bedroom lights - oh yeah, no talking me into leaving them up all year long. There are many restaurants that keep lights up year-round too. There really should be more info on this topic. Again, I just had no idea until I flipped the Kmart brand box over. Learn something new everyday.

I heard about this yesterday evening on my local news out of Raleigh.

Fortunately, my folks and I have an artificial tree that already has the lights on it...so no need to worry about the lead issue.
