Yeah, baby!!!!! Just woke up and flipped on the TV, which was still on FoxNews from the middle of the morning when I took another dose of Nyquil! I had to rub the sleep out of my eyes to make sure I was reading the screen correctly. I think my neighbor must have wondered what's wrong if she heard my hoarse hoots and hollers as I celebrated privately. I wanted to go outside and scream, but I know my throat just wouldn't do my happiness justice.

THIS IS AWESOME!

My first thought, though, was - is it a look-alike? But I came here and you guys have confirmed that the news guys have confirmed that the military has confirmed that it's him. YAY!!!! We finally got the MuFuAhHoSonnaBit! :)

Looks like he's hiding......

My husband just logged onto his laptop, read the news, and I, like Linda, went to my computer and came here. Knew there'd be many threads about this breaking news story.

Wish I could talk to my nephew, I'm sure he's thrilled. He's somewhere in Iraq, with the 101st.

Great, great news and yes the best xmas present we could ask for.

The streets of Iraq are cheering and firing of guns into the air!! Hopefully his capture will prove to those people that we are there to help them.

I heard about an Iraqi interview. The man said two things would make the Iraqi people happy... "The capture of Saddam" and "Electricity" lol. He got one wish.

chad.... Paolo is probably digging a hole to get in right now. hehe.

They said that Sadaam was a man who acted "resigned to his fate" He knew he would get caught eventually and the life he was having to lead was so polar opposite of what he was used to. He went from fast women and gold to holes in basements and NO personal hygiene. He is probably somewhat relieved to be in custody. Heck, we will probably treat him better than they way he was living. Bush knew exactly what he was doing and always has. We, the American People, have to realize that we will NEVER EVER know what is really going on at any given time! We can listen to the media, read the papers and form our own opinions but the truth WILL NEVER be out in the open until the government wants it there. Try to remember that the next time some of you insult our President.

This is indeed the best news we could hope for on a Sunday morning. I agree Helen... Dean is probably having heart palpatations.

I saw Kerry on while ago... and he wasn't cussing or badmouthing. He said you have to give the President and our troops credit for it.

Woooohooo!!! Just got on and saw this. I am shaking in gratefulness to the men and women who brought this about. And to the President who didn't cave in to international pressure to just let things go on until it was too late. This will surely help stimulate a more encouraging atmosphere this holiday season and will even help stimulate the economy worldwide, knowing the Butcher of Baghdad is in chains.
