This is therock1811, live in Florence Ky.

Snow has been falling now for a few hours, and while this was going on, the temperature has held steady at around 27°. Winds are from the east right now, and we do expect that to continue. By 6am tomorrow there should be 1-2" on the ground with an additional 1" to as many as 2" tomorrow. Stay tuned as we continue to cover this first snow of the winter of 2003-2004 in the Ohio Valley. Live in Florence, KY this is therock1811.

Hey Rock.. I know I shouldn't mix thunderstorms with snow. But I just wanted to comment that with all those yellows down on that radar you sent me.. It looks like a secondary squall line may be trying to form.

Gulf of Mexico waters are plenty warm enough. It could be an interesting overnight

Found this local article, similar to what Jeremy just posted. Tri-state refers to OH/KY/IN in case that's confusing to anyone.

Tri-state Gets First Measurable Snowfall Of The Season

Reported by: 9News

Approximately two inches of snow fell Saturday night, causing slick roadways and a beautiful outdoor scene in the Tri-state.

Many secondary roads are snow-covered, but primary roads have been cleared as of 7:30 a.m. Sunday. Interstates have been cleared and are easily passable.

With no additional accumulation expected by WCPO Chief Meteorologist Pete Delkus, roadways will be completely clear in time for Monday morning rush hour.

A few flurries are expected to fall through noon Sunday, but no additional accumulation is expected. The high temperature will be 34 degrees with a high Monday of 42.

Snow totals as of Sunday morning:

• Florence - 2"

• Georgetown - 3"

• Hillsboro - 2"

• Connersville - 6"

• Batesville - 3"

• Cincinnati - 2"

• Wilmington - 1.5"

A winter weather advisory is in effect for most of the Tri-state through noon Sunday. The winter weather advisory was called simply to alert people to the snowy situation.

The weather has been blamed for at least one major traffic crash. Four cars collided on the ramp from Westbound I-274 to I-275 around 9 a.m. Sunday. No injuries were reported, but police said the crash was due to icy conditions.
