Bombs in Baghdad...

#1 Postby wx247 » Sun Dec 14, 2003 12:49 pm

Here is what David mentioned and I thought it deserved its own thread... from FOX NEWS...

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Large explosions rocked central Baghdad (search) Sunday evening and flames and thick smoke rose from the area, just hours after U.S. officials announced the capture of Saddam Hussein (search).

Shortly afterward, bursts of gunfire rang out from the area. The explosions occurred at 8:20 p.m. local time in the central Baghdad area of Karadah.

Bush said it at his address that the US troops can expect the terrorists to attack but they will be defeated.

Reutters reported that the were fuel cannisters that exploded - it didn't seem like it was a deliberate bombing.

Just reporting what FOX NEWS is... facts are obviously not always accurate in the moments after the initial event.

I think all news stations were reporting that initially. The information is only as good as what is received.

Why does it deserve its own thread?

It was in the Saddam thread and I felt that it deserved its own thread because it didn't specifically deal with Saddam being captured and I didn't want to clutter that thread with my information. I also thought people might miss it there if they had already checked the topic.

I understand. Ugh! Sorry for bringing it up... at first it didn't seem to deserve it's own thread. Again, my apologies.

No hard feelings Tom... at least I hope not. No need for you to apologize. You did nothing wrong. :D

Thank you, Garrett. I know I didn't have to apologize, but at the same time deserved one. :)

Looking broadly at this thread being created it seemed to be another "Saddam" and/or "Iraq" thread.

You should know me by now... enjoying the access and friendships I have made here at Storm2K. :D

Yes, indeed. Facts should be inaccurate when new reports are released, considering getting some data out then tweaked is better than no information at all.
