Earlier today I offered a trade to my snow-starved Chicago sister: I'd take some of her christmas cookies for about a foot of snow. She declined the offer. What a shame: right now it looks like I could give out a foot of snow and still have plenty left for a white christmas. If I had to make a guess I'd guess I have about 10 fresh inches of the stuff over the old snow already on the ground, with plenty more in the clouds waiting for me.
You live in the wrong "V" state. Try "VT" instead of "VA"

I'm not exactly sure-- I didn't check the official snowpack levels immediately before the storm, and I'm disabled / mostly housebound, and so experience most of my snow from the wrong side of the window. If I had to venture a guess, I'd say about 8" were left from last weekend's 18" snowfall.
This weekend's snowfall is also officially 18". Last night, I spotted a motorist stuck in the middle of the street during the storm. Today, traffic is noticibly reduced (I did spot a cross country skier skiing in a parking lot, though). Schools and many businesses were shut down or delayed in opening. I went out, briefly, this morning, to greet the snow-- there's a whole lot of it out there.
Come out here and bring your bucket. You can have all you want
