Evening!

Thought I would curl up by the fire and enjoy some hot cocoa. Looks like more snow is on the way for me. *sigh*

I guess I will enjoy tomorrow as the warmest day over the next several days.

Blizzard... I need to get a move on with my Christmas shopping. I have lots of presents left to buy with only a short time to buy them.

Thanks Furluv. You want any of it? ;)

Happy Thursday!

Thanks Sandi - my kids have told me just about the same thing. LOL It will all get done. You see I had a plan for this December. It was supposed to be CALM. I was supposed to done with heavy duty cleaning, decorating, shopping/wrapping, by November 30th. So I could have a fun December, the first calm, fun one in years! I think I'm stressed out b/c it hasn't turned out that way. Quite the opposite! Best laid plans and all that....... :-). Oh well, what can I do but roll with it now. I made lots of notes on this year's calendar in the memo area to help make this December fun. Forgot to write - make no appts. whatsoever and all we've had are doctor/hair/car ones, not to mention all the school related recitals/parties. Ugh. It's enough to drive a mother crazy, it is!

Taking deep breaths!!!! Thanks for the support Sandi.

Next....

Its only 14* in Menasha this morning... +1* for windchill! Put another log on the fire please :D Much colder on campus since the winds are out of the NW...meaning blowing right over the Bay onto Campus! No place to hid from this.

one final down (a project that is due tomorrow....which is finished!) and 4 more to go :( I will definitely be a happy camper when the exams are over with!

Stay Warm :D

Hi guys! Wow, last time I was here, it was still The Front Porch! How the heck have you all been? I've missed ya! I'm slowly catching up on the S2K happenings. I love the Men and Women of Storm2K threads. What a riot!!

I felt I needed to take a time-out, as I was finding myself in front of the computer for hours on end obsessing about the weather. I'm sure no one here can relate, huh? :D Then I planned on coming back after I finished my wxchat homework (600 word essay). Well, I knew that wasn't happening til after Christmas, so I broke my word and came back early. :)

Garrett - You're a sweetie for posting an APB on my whereabouts. I just found it. (((BIG HUG))) to you wxbuddy!

We're just one big happy family here. It's great to be back!
Take care!

Yo Donna!!! Welcome home!!! Glad you have come back to join us again. I have to force myself to slow down and take time off too!!! With my "position" here at S2K I try to keep a balance, but will not hesitate to drop it all totally if necessary!! We do have lives outside of Storm2k don't we??? :?:

Just finished a round of pounding rains here with rates to 3"/hour by my calcs(math and digital rain gauge). It has move on to Ticka's area and intensified too!!! Hope all is well in Baytown. We had 1.03" out of it but some areas had 3" and minor flooding.

Work continues to be a good thing. Today one of the principals of the firm told me they were going to have me meeting with officials to work our problems on projects and without saying it directly giving me more responsibility.

I am feeling much better than this time last week. Not completely over the crud, but able to function at a normal level and ring and sing. We really get into the thick of it starting on Tuesday with a performance of the Bell choir. Voice is almost back to normal(ie able to scare people a way with one opening of the mouth!!)which is good since it is one week to Cantata.

Well enough about me. I'll hang around more to stay warm as we are getting cooler and cooler each week here in Houston(gee, what a concept for winter!  ).

Donna, I welcomed you back in "the other thread," but... Welcome Back, again! :D

I see the last post you made, [before the last 12 in the last two days], was Friday, September 19th, (the day after Hurricane Isabel made landfall along the North Carolina coast).

Good Morning!

First off...."WELCOME Home Donna!" WOW....it's great seeing you!

Wasn't around at all yesterday, don't know WHAT happened yesterday morning but ALL internet service, cell phone service was down! Then we went to Flagstaff to meet my daughter, took her Christmas shopping, lunch etc, etc.....my GOD the PEOPLE!! I saw more people from Pinetop in Flagstaff than I do here in town "LOL!" OH.....Kohls has ONE HECKUVA sale yesterday!

David, glad to hear your feeling better and the jobs doing great!

Furry......a cruise?? WOW! Sounds wonderful!

I don't think we're heading to His house today, got TOO many things to *wrap up*.......finish making my caramel corn, finish up in the woodshop, my ribs, back threw me WAAAAAAAAAY behind schedule *sigh* I "LOVE" the holidays but HOW I HATE the stress that comes along with it!

#518 Postby blizzard » Mon Dec 15, 2003 7:21 am

Only one more shopping saturday until Christmas. wow, where has all the time gone? Just seems likek yesterday there was still a month to go. I can't wait for CHristmas to get here. Prime Rib Dinner at my Dad's house. My parents have been divorced for about 18 years now, but they both get together with all of us during Christmas so that we can save on traveling. That's been happening for a couple of years now. Its nice to see them getting along well enough to allow the grandkids to see them both at the same time during the holidays.

25* here this morning. Wow what a change from last week. Just hope we get some more snow before next week. Last weeks storm missed us as usual.

I know what you mean Blizzard. Because of the weather I stayed in most of the weekend and so still no more Christmas shopping has been done. I am going to get with it today though. ;)
