Why I love Texas weather!

#1 Postby Houstonia » Tue Dec 16, 2003 9:57 am

Cypress, Texas at 9:00 a.m:

46 degrees
55% humidity
Wind blowing at a WONDERFUL 17 mph with gusts to 31.
Not a cloud in the sky if you excuse the west Texas dust blowing in from Abilene.

It's beautiful out. My only wish is that I was down Galveston where the winds are near gale force at times.

What are you doing in Cypress? I thought you lived in Bellaire. :?:

Have you moved? Good to see you posting!

Yep, it is gonna be a cold(at least wind chill wise)day in the burbs of Houston. Wind advisory for the whole day with winds expected to be 20-30 mph with gusts to around 40mph. Not a nice day except that it is sunny and clear. Gonna be a nippy one in the am with a light freeze for most areas from I-10 N. Wrap up the pets and pipes and any kids you leave out.

I switched jobs. I still live in beautiful southwest Houston, but instead of working 50 miles to the north in Conroe, I am working 30 miles to the northwest in Cypress. :D

Yep, nice and breezy out. I love it!!!

Houstonia, you said you worked in Conroe? I live about 8 miles West of Conroe. If you don't mind me asking, whereabouts did you work? I grew up in the Bellaire area. Do you know where Evergreen Street is? I lived a few blocks down on a street called Oleander. Do you know the area? Nice to see another Bellairian on the board. :D

Breezy is an understatement for down here. :) Like Houstonia said, gale force winds at times.

Johnny--I work for the "District". North Harris Montgomery Community College District.

I previously worked at The University Center/Montgomery College on the southern edge of Conroe/northern edge of The Woodlands.

I transferred recently and now I work at Cy-Fair College in Cypress.

Okay, it's a massive district...

Johnny--I actually LIVE in Sharpstown, although my post box is addressed to Bellaire! And yes, I'm familar with Evergreen Street and Oleander.

Just a tidbit for any Michael Nesmith (of the Monkees) fans--he used to live in a house located at the corner of Pine and either Rampart or Renwick. I'm sure the house is no longer there--probably bulldozed under.

Your trivia for the day! :-) :-)
