Don't ask me why I have this but...
PUBLIC INFORMATION STATEMENT
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BARROW AK
136 AM ADT TUE JUN 20 2000
...THUNDERSTORMS MOVED THROUGH BARROW ON THE ARCTIC COAST...
THE FIRST THUNDERSTORM IN RECORDED HISTORY MOVED THROUGH BARROW TONIGHT AND DROPPED 0.16 INCHES OF RAIN IN JUST A FEW MINUTES.
IN THE PAST NUMERSOUS THUNDERSTORMS AND LIGHTNING HAVE BEEN REPORTED IN THE RECORDS BUT ALWAYS AT A DISTANCE. THERE WERE MANY CALLS RECEIVED AT THE LOCAL WEATHER OFFICE FROM PEOPLE WHO HAS JUST WITNESSED THEIR FIRST THUNDERSTORM AND LIGHTNING DISPLAY..AND WHAT A DISPLAY IT WAS.
ACCORDING TO THE CALLS RECEIVED..THIS COMMUNITY ON THE EXTREME NORTH COAST OF ALASKA HAD ONE OF THE MOST EXCITING EVENTS THAT THEY HAVE EVER SEEN..SINCE IT WAS THE FIRST FOR MOST OF THE RESIDENTS.
THUNDERSTORMS AND LIGHTNING ARE VERY RARE THIS FAR NORTH. THE QUESTION BEING ASKED..IS THIS GOING TO HAPPEN ALL SUMMER?..THAT IS A VERY GOOD QUESTION..SINCE WE HAVE ONLY HAD 5 DAYS THIS YEAR WITH TEMPERATURES ABOVE 39 DEGREES.

I am delighted with all the thunderstorms in Alaska because the incidences of thunderstorms in AK may be one sign of climatic change that could one day tip the balance to the point where the North Atlantic Current shuts down. Thunderstorms in places like Alaska and perhaps in other locations in the Arctic could help along the processes that could release more fresh water into the Arctic oceans where the reduced salinity could shut down the conveyor belt that powers the North Atlantic Current. Salinity of the arctic seas is one key to the shutdown of the Current, which I yearn to see in my lifetime.
Snow and deep Polar cold come first in my life.
I am indeed praying that the Conveyor shuts down in my lifetime.

oh and jeb if that were to happen ---- do you know what the effect of that would be on global climate. CATASTROPHIC. but since our Continents are always moving, and the structure of the oceans and land masses changing, we are bound to see some changes in normal global climate patterns over the next 1000 years.

ROFLMAO!!!!! ROFLMAO!!!!
I look forward to meeting Dr. Phil, and to my stay in the hospital.
Let me clue you in, and I am not saying this in anger, just out of experience.
I have been in therapy for over 20 years. Various medications have done nothing for me. I will continue to pray for a Conveyor shutdown. It may be that regardless of what I like or do not like, that a Conveyor shutdown could already be in the beginning stages. I will use everything that my Christian Intercession group has taught me about praying, to pray for a Conveyor shutdown. I even fast food for a Conveyor shutdown. I love snow like you are utterly incapable of comprehending. You like the warmth. That's fine by me. I like -50 degree conditions and heavy snow and ice and jebwalks in it. I will continue to pray for a Conveyor shutdown, because I love snow and it is first in my life. Think of it as you will. America is a free country.

If the North Atlantic Current shut down, we would see colder and drier weather in the Northern Hemisphere.
Look at the drought in the west. Wow, maybe that drought is the beginning of changes in the direction of a cooldown. If this process has begun, if we are already in the very very beginning stages of a slowdown of the Current, then perhaps the western drought is a symptom of the slowdown of the Current. That is encouraging me to like the Western drought as well. I am going to find all the websites that cover the catastrophic Western drought and list them on my website.
There are ice core records that show that climatic change toward the cold has taken place in only years!!!! Man that fires up my faith to pray for the Current shutdown!!! It has happened before!!! It CAN happen!!!!
I would have MORE snow and cold to jebwalk in than I can begin to comprehend!!!!
BRING IT ON is all I can say!!!!!

FLguy wrote:well jeb, then i suppose you will be enjoying your jebwalks among the glaciers.
which BTW extended as far south as the lower susquehanna valley of PA during the last ice age.
One thing I discovered this winter is that I enjoy walking on the ice a LOT. Now I worship both snow and ice! I loved walking on that ice so very much!! Glacier-related jebwalks will be fine with me, and the glaciers will reinforce the cool, refreshing arctic air I relish so very much!

Bring on the North Atlantic Current shutdown!!!! Bring It!!!

That graphical background photo for the new movie entitled, "The Day After Tomorrow" is beautiful.
I like it very much.
I intend to see that movie at least as many times as I watched Twister. I saw Twister so many times that the movie manager let me in for free after I had seen it about twenty times.
I'd like to get that background photo in poster form, and place it on my bedroom wall where I can relax and admire the snow for hours in my spare time!
