XMAS Storm Possibilities? Lakes, OH Valley, MW, Eastcoast???

#1 Postby Guest » Wed Dec 17, 2003 12:13 pm

Im sure everyone has been hearing about this now for a few days..
If not then well now you know about the "Posibbility" of a major storm for Christmas day or there about now.............

Right now the details are still yet to be determined as far as precip types go and availble cold air for this system.

Safe to say imo someone is gonna get buried in a ton of snow and others Rain by the time this system winds down after Christmas.

Before the moderate rain mixed with and changed to snow here, I had big standing puddles of water on my lawn. ANOTHER HEAVY RAIN for Christmas?

Tell ya what...........You want to get me something for Christmas? Buy me a Boat! No, I'm gonna need a Bigger boat!

The GFS (don't shoot me!) has us under warm air with precipitation for Christmas. We're going to need that boat up here as well!

I wouldn't go so far as saying it's safe to say someone is going to get buried. It's never safe to say anything when it comes to weather.

The what!!!! :2gunfire: J/K LOL. Actually i seen that which i did take into account with what i said. I will say that for right now it does look to be mainly a rain event along the eastcoast but some snow perhaps towards the end. Right now the snow if it is snow and not rain looks to be on the west side of the apps out in the Lakes/ OH Valley and Midwest and yes this does include southern areas of Michigan/Wisconsin.

Just know the "Potential" exist for a huge snow/rain storm around Christmas and on the day itself..........

NWS Buf has us at a high of 50 for Wednesday(Christmas Eve). That doesn't bode well for frozen precip around that time. But hey, it was 48 yesterday and today we have had 5/8" of snow.
