The weather is terrible in northern Virginia this afternoon.

We are enduring a 61/24 T/D spread.

In the spring, 61 degrees is nice. Today, its horrific. What's more, there's more rain on the way. We don't need any more rain for at least 3 weeks. Give me my extremely frigid weather. I want icy waterways and ground as hard as steel. I want 12 degrees in the daytime with dewpoints of -10 degrees and north winds 30 to 50 mph. I want overnight lows near -8.

I really would not mind a Little Ice Age.

that's about as warm as it gets around here usually this time of year. The record today is 69 degrees I believe. So we're in some warmth. Norfolk, VA is nearing 70 at 68 degrees.

Then there is that all time record at BWI Airport, which will likely be broken Wednesday.

BWI's all time DEC rec high is 77 and DEC 24ths rec high is 65.

both record highs are safe as highs will struggle to reach the upper 50s at BWI tomorrow.

I would love to see 36 inches of snow at one time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is the question, will it happen this year?
Or will we see something like it?
The mets. say that there will be a very cold outbreak with storminess in the East. I hope that plays out.

It's a gray and brisk day here in south Louisiana. Temps have fallen to near 50 and the windchill is in the low 40's. Not terribly cold but good enough to get everyone in the christmas mood. Yesterday felt like spring with highs near 70 so I'm thankful we had a cold front move through.

Yep we may actually have temps this year that feel like winter-to a southerner-with a 35º-40º low for Christmas morning.

Sure hoping what the models are showing 10 days out verifies!!(with lots of precip to go with it!!). Cold enough to make it snow even in the deep south!!! PLEASE!!!!!

It hit 64 here today, and was definitely not good for the Christmas mood! Rain on the way now, and then finally back to some cold. I'm hoping Jeb's prediction comes true, and we finally get our January frigid temps and snow!!

That's the spirit, 1evans!!! Keep thinking heavy 36-inch blizzard!! Keep praying for it!!

Tonight, we have light rain with winds out of the SE at 15 mph, temperature is up to 60 degrees with DP at 45 degrees. These conditions are NOT very winterlike. Rather more like October OBX weather, and while I enjoyed my jebwalk tonight, I still want highs in the low teens with lows down to -8 and dewpoints in the negative teens and everything frozen over like northern Alaska!!! Then bring on that 36 inch blizzard!!! Then let the Siberian cold be entrenched over us for three or four weeks!!! I want to wait 2 whole weeks for a Plow, then get plowed in with a ten foot mound of compacted snow that then takes me a whole week to chip through with my snow-digging shovel!!!
