WINTER STORM WARNING

URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BUFFALO NY
352 PM EST WED DEC 24 2003

...HEAVY SNOW IS EXPECTED TO BLANKET PORTIONS OF WESTERN AND NORTHERN
NEW YORK...

.IN WESTERN NEW YORK A DISTURBANCE IN THE UPPER ATMOSPHERE WILL BRING
A GENERAL SNOWFALL LATE TONIGHT AND ON CHRISTMAS DAY. IN ADDITION...
AS THE COLD AIR DEEPENS...BANDS OF LAKE EFFECT SNOW WILL ENHANCE
SNOWFALL TOTALS. ACCUMULATIONS BY THURSDAY NIGHT WILL EXCEED 6
INCHES IN NORTHERN ERIE AND GENESEE COUNTIES...AND MAY EXCEED A FOOT
FROM SOUTHERN ERIE AND WYOMING COUNTIES INTO THE SOUTHERN TIER
COUNTIES.

DOWNSTREAM OF LAKE ONTARIO...HEAVY LAKE EFFECT SNOW IS POSSIBLE ONCE
THE COLD AIR BECOMES ESTABLISHED THURSDAY NIGHT AND FRIDAY. THERE IS
THE POTENTIAL FOR OVER 6 INCHES IN JEFFERSON...LEWIS AND OSWEGO
COUNTIES BY FRIDAY EVENING.

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE INFORMATION...TO RECEIVE UPDATED STATEMENTS

But Jeb, that isn't too far from normal is it? I greew up in PG and Charles Counties, across the river from you. I remember plenty of days in the 40's throughout the winter growing up.
