Well Marva must have been very evil this year, as her Christmas got mangled. I managed to do SOMETHING to my back, putting gas in the mower (yes, just putting gas in it) and can no longer stand up straight and have this really weird pain running down my legs. So much for driving to Dallas on Christmas Eve. When I called my daughter to tell her we couldn't make it, she said she'd come here, which would have been great had she not come for 3 hours, just to get her gifts and drive back. Thank heavens I had some of my painkillers left and have been living on them ever since Tuesday afternoon. There's much more, but don't want to bore you.
On a good note, Santa did bring me some lovely diamond studs that I've been wanting and a dvd/vcr combo that matches my tv, so that was nice.
I'm glad all my buddies here have had a good christmas and we all seem to have made it through with none of us having suffered a loss or personal disaster. Christmas blessings to all and SAVE ME SOME DESSERT!

Hugs to all,
Mangled Marva

I don't know whether to laugh or cry at that one Marva. Hope you feel better. And that daughter of yours must be adopted or something :D

Nice to see everyone having a great Christmas and all! For me it could have been better but thats something i dont care to get into here. I did get me some snow for xmas which was great to see and a huge present in itself. Funny how all my life i never seen a white christmas untill last christmas and now i have had two. My other present i have to wait for. Which for me will be well worth the wait and you all will know why AFTER! ;)Lets say its a lifelong and best possible present besides my son that anyone could ever ask for and a present that i have waited for all my life. :)So trust me it will be well worth the wait!!!! :)
My son did pretty good for his first xmas btw! :)

Merry Christmas to all !

Stormraiser.
Prolly my christmas wouldn't have been SO intolerable had my silly computer been working, think my dsl was sick and I couldn't very well mess with it in the shape I was in. Finally was able to crawl on the floor this morning, unplug a bunch of stuff, unplug the phone in the bedroom and voila, it worked. That and Marva's sure fire trick to fix anything electrical-threaten it with a bath in the pond and call it every expletive name in the book.
KOW, I will try and contain my envy over your white christmas and am oh so curious as to your mysterious comments that you will elaborate on later. You just love to keep us in suspense, don't you? Kinda like me waiting on snow here (until hell freezes over!).

no significant fanfare other than to say that i was fortunate to be in the company of a few good friends and get a good meal contrary to believing i would spend the day alone.

it's good to hear so many of you had a good time with family. hope to share in the same sentiment later this year. best wishes! p

Deb, my thoughts and prayers are STILL with you during this wretched time.
Jacki, I see we are still having a problem with cool whip thefts. Believe me when I say, the cool whip police ARE on their way to your little shack of a house and you CANNOT hide all those empty containers any longer. Cool whip theft is a federal offense, punishable by 10-15 years of holidays with NO coolwhip. I will hunt you down like the dog you are and will RECLAIM MY TITLE AS COOL WHIP QUEEN!

Had a fantastic Christmas! :D Nothing like the warmth and love of being with your family members at this time of year! :)

1) A Cracker Barrel Travel Almanac, pack of Juicy Fruit gum and cute homemade Christmas card from my niece, nephew, sister and brother-in-law.

2) 3 weather almanacs: Old Farmer's, Farmer's and Blum's Carolina from my folks...as well as an Accord Publishing Wx Guide wall calendar and Wx Weekly Engagement calendar planner which are both filled with a TON of fun weather facts, pics, stories and trivia...as well as a fold-out HI/LO temperatures map with which you can record your monthly readings as well as record your daily weather conditions/extremes on the calendar dates/days! :D

3) A book titled "The Hornet's Nest" written by former President Jimmy Carter about the Revolutionary War and part of the story takes place in NC! :) It is one of those hard-to-put-down reads and GREAT for an American History enthusiast, like myself! :)

4) A device that cleans eyeglasses as well as other things using just water. You just plug it in (ALWAYS making sure it has water in it!) B4 plugging it in and turning it on...or it may break the device! This will reduce my having to spend $$$ on those containers of nice Echerd's eyeglasses wipes to get off that 'debris' that collects on one's lens!

5) A nice combined clock/flashlight for when a sudden power surge or outage occurs.

First time I have felt up to posting my huge list of goodies since Thursday ... let's see here ...

External hard drive, back scratcher, Bob Carlisle CD, church calendar, 2 picture frames, 2 photo albums, 2 Fast 2 Furious DVD, a gift certificate to a local electronics store, money from my mom, money from my grandma, a blanket (king sized) from my neighbors, a new optical mouse, and of course my cold.
