Hello-My first post
I just wanted to say hello to everyone from Lawrence, Kansas (about 30 miles west of Kansas City and the home of the University of Kansas)-this is my first post and I just wanted to wish every one a great holiday season and that the posts here are great!! I am a Latin and History teacher by trade, but I love the weather and always put models (though my knowledge of them is very weak) on my LCD at school when storms are coming in so I am trying to learn just enough to make a fool out of myself-have a great night!!
Weather here: warm-windy-I'm bass fishing tom.!!
10 inches of snow so far this year (more than all of last year!!)

Yea-the last two weeks have been kind of rough if you like winter weather-the fishing yesterday was slow-ice had just gone off the lake!! We have had between 8-10 inches which is almost our whole total from last year so I'm not going to complain-some day, we will be in the bulls eye-the law of averages will catch up!! I know the mets are saying fairly warm this week, but the models are hinting at something down the road(don't they always though!!!)-have a great day
by the way, will KU ever be able to hit a shot beyond 5 feet????

I have to tell you that I love your area-we took a trip to the Grand Canyon two years ago and I fell in love with Flagstaff-I would love to live there-it was awsome!!! I also like your tag line about radical enviromentalism-I teach my kids to respect the env. and we pick up trash etc. all the time, fish etc. but some people take it a bit too far imho!! have a great day and I hope you guys can get some relief from the drought-we have a fairly good one going on here now as well-we're about 10 inches below for the year and prob. 15-20 below for the past 3 years. I am a jayhawk fan-even a jayhawk football fan-one of the few idiots who have season football tickets!!! See ya!!

You wouldn't recoginze Flagstaff now, thanks to the *Radical Environmentalists*, we have lost over an estimated 20 million Ponderosa Pines thanks to the Western Balsm Bark Beetle. The hardest area hit is in and around Flagstaff, Payson and the White Mountains, the hardest hit area in Flagstaff is Mars Hill, home of the Lowell Observatory, the mountain is almost 100% devoid of ANY Ponderosas, truly a sad sight to witness.
Indeed, this is a WONDERFUL place to live and raise a family, virtually a drug free zone, not TOTALLY mind you, some of the best academic school systems in the state.
We own a business called Arizona Mountain Environmental Services, we do environmental impact studies and assessments.........I can't tell you HOW many times Michelle and I have had our lifes physically threatened by these radicals, we are environmentalists ourselfs BUT.....we have the knowledge to manage the environment in a sensable manner.
Once again, "WELCOME" and sorry for going so Off topic, my main purpose in life now is fighting these radical folks and trying to make a difference in this world by saving what little forest land we have left and preserve it for future generations.
