What is obvious though is that apart for the United States the Lesser Antilles is the other region which has been lucky as far as landfalls from Major Hurricanes.

only

Luis (1995)

Marilyn (1995)

Georges (1998)

Lenny (1999)

have struck the islands since upswing of Major Hurricane commenced in 1995.

You mentioned the fact that Georges potentially could have made Luis look feeble how about Isabel if she was a few degress further south there could of been a Category 5 Hurricane barrelling through the NE Leeward Islands and not much would have been left standing in her wake.

you forgot Bertha and Jose, although they were not as strong.
we actually had six hurricanes affect us one way or the other in 4 years. I do not consider that lucky .

I meant in comparison to other parts of the Caribbean and how often they were struck by large intense Destructive Hurricane during the last cycle particulary during the 1950's-1960's.
