I have a heat pump. Which means I run heat through electricity. I have a gas hot water heater and stove. I paid 60 bucks for natural gas this month. I am sick of it!! Fixing to change everything over to electric.

We got the natural gas thing going here which I see NO need for. I'd sleep all winter with the windows open but Mr. Marva gets cold if the temp drops below 80 and he's from ILLINOIS!!!! What usually ends up happening is I have the window half open, since it's on my side of the bed and all I have is a sheet while Mr. Marva is under about four blankets "suffering from frostbite". Go figure.

I don't particularly mind the cold if I'm awake. Most people tell me that I keep my apartment and office freezing with the AC so low. But I can't stand sleeping with only freezing cold air to breathe, especially when I'm sick. I can keep my body warm with blankets and warm jammies. But I can't stand to bury my face under blankets either. So I use electric space heaters for those 7-10 days out of the whole year that we ever have below 45 temps here in Galveston.

LOL eb and Ticka. I'm not the only one with temperature issues!

I can adapt to a point. I threaten my M.I.L. that if it get too hot in the house, I'll walk around in my underwear. I try to close the bedroom door if my wife has the window open. Lololol

I have electric heat that I turn on when necessary. I use my wood burning fireplace a lot...I love a fire going!

And I can't sleep with it hot either...I've walked outside in my jammies and barefoot in freezing weather before to cool off cuz I let my house get too hot.

My home is old too but very updated thank goodness. I do not have natural gas to heat it, just a darn 50 gallon hot water tank and stove. 60 bucks is ALOT for just those two things. And it will probably go up this month because of the three extra people living here for now.

lol...same prob here. My wife has her elec. blanket on max all night, I can't even turn on my side, and usually I throw off most of the blankets anyway. I like it cooler to sleep in , but rather have my house at 70* when I am up and about. We use gas and our budget plan amount is $69 a month, averaged out throughout the year. We also run our water heater with gas. Stove and dryer are electric, just because that's what was in there when we bought the house. If I had my was, the stove would be gas also.

Since I've been in Florida I feel the most comfortable when the indoor temperatures is around 78°.

In Massachusetts having the thermostat set for 68° to 72° was normal and felt comfortable (to me).
