I've been up for nearly an hour now and couldn't sleep...i have a fever over 102. I feel REALLY sick and it isn't very pleasant.

Just thought I'd come on and check the boards before I tried to get back to sleep.

I hope I somehow get better when I wake up.

woodstockwx - hope you feel better! Have you tried Motrin to bring the temp down? Motrin works great! I'm never w/o it now. Get better.

Mary

PS - did you mean to post this in off topic perhaps? This forum isn't that busy. Well, except Jacki's bar.....that's a hopping place!

actually I did take some motrin, around the time you posted but I wasn't online!

I feel a little better and hopefully it's just a 24hr bug.

Woodstock - first time the Pediatrician gave my child Motrin for fever and strep throat, I was amazed! One minute in the doctor's office she was limp in my lap, she was 4, and the next, 20 minutes later at home, running around and playing. I was blown away! Tylenol was just never again a consideration. We always opt for Motrin now. And I can always tell when it begins to wear off, they're back on the couch. Of course my kids are older now but when they were little, Motrin sure made a huge difference! I highly recommend it.

Get well soon Quincy. Being sick during the holidays is truly a bummer.

I went from not being able to sleep last night, with a 102.4 fever to 98.9 temperature and feeling much better after taking motrin.

I was amazed!

I don't get sick all of that often and it's been a while since I took motrin or even tylenol, and I was shocked how fast and well it worked this morning.

Sounds like me Q, I had a 102 and the next day went down to 99. It'll get so much better tomorrow.

Quincy, I am sorry to hear that you were sick this morning. Glad to hear you feel better.

I took Advil (which is ibuprofen), as Motrin IB is. I took it two different times in the mid to late 1990's and broke out in hives and got very itchy.

Naproxen is related to ibuprofen, but I have never took it to see what happens and I shouldn't. Aleve is naproxen.

glad you are feeling better. I have never used motrin... I always use Advil, but I guess I will have to check it out now.

As I mentioned, Advil and Motrin are the same thing... ibuprofen.

That's usually what happens when you don't get sick often. I'm the same way. I don't get sick often, but when I do, it usually is a severe one that knocks me on my behind for a few days.

Hope you're feeling better Quincy!
