Woodstock.. Once you go Ad-aware, you dont go back.. LOL..
Colin run adaware again... If it finds a lot of spyware again, then some one is prob hijacking your browser.. Run it again and let me know.

Colin I have the same problem!!!!!!! Ive been trying to get rid of it for months now.. mine keeps changing itself to globefinder.com! I have to run adaware every time it resets itself, otherwise my puter runs all slow. Please if you can figure it out let me know.. I know how frustrating this is!!!!!

Another line of defense is a firewall. It will keep out uninvited visitors from your computer. Zone Alarm is a free download (just do a google search for "Zone Alarm download") and install it. I look at the log from time to time and there are dozens of attempts every day of bad guys trying to get in my 'puter. If you have a cable modem, you are a big juicy target for them.
This won't stop internet sites that you choose to visit from loading stuff on your computer. By a process of elimination you can determine which sites put this stuff on your computer and not go there!
One other option that I've plugged for in the past is Spybot. It's does the same thing as ad-aware but offers periodic updates. It will also allow you to "immunize" your computer to stop unwanted downloads from sites you visit. Every time I visit The Weather Channel it stops a download of spyware called "Avenue A" LOL
Some people have not had sucess with spybot but it works for me.

I was working on my Uncles PC the other day with the same problem, and to rid yourself of it you may have to go to the control panel, Add/Delete programs and find the globefinder program there and delete it. This is a temporary fix, since it installed itself from one of the sitres you visited, a firewall in that case would help any further occurances.

I have Yahoo! as my homepage and have been getting another site every several minutes not too long after Colin brought it up. I have run Ad-Ware several times since and it isn't fixing the problem either. I am also unable to access some websites at times, including the Storm2K Stat Page.
Sure... but you still got to have a basis to get it through word of mouth. One of my brother's told me and I have heard about it ever since here, on and off.
I have never gotten an Ad-Aware or any maintenane program via popup or e-mail.
