Adding to your remarks, Ed...

The PBS is a place where you go in and sit in a rocker with a footstool and reminisce or chat about everything you've done or you wished you'd done. You are surrounded by friendly familiar faces who improve your day just by being there. You listen more and talk less. Hugs and handshakes wake up your smile and can make your day.

The bar is a place where you go sit on a stool, surrounded by rockers, and chat about things you want others to think you've done or things you did but wished you never had. You are surrounded by faces of people you may not know, you may not care to know, or you know all too well from the last time you were there. You talk more so you don't have to listen to everyone's come-on's. Hugs wake up something else and can make your night.

Both are great places...and can lead to lasting friendships.

You are, however, more likely to find money (among other things) on the floor at daybreak in the bar. You are more likely to find money in the cushions at the PBS.

He He, thanks, skyman.

I haven't checked the cushions in a while. Let's see.... a gum wrapper...some coconut from a donut....ah ha! a nickel and a penny - the penny is all sticky, though.

Theres an old jar over there on the window sill. I'll just drop this change in there. Let's see if it starts to accumulate.

Don't know if I told you this before Shannon, but my degree is in Earth Science Education with a minor in Geography, too.

That degree has been very good to me over the years...and, in fact, is one of the reasons I'm writing this to you right here at the Storm2k board!

Hope it takes you to special places and opens as many doors for you as it has for me.

Kelly and Mark - A BIG PBS WELCOME TO YOU!!!! Glad you finally made it over here. Yeah, it took Ed forever to find us, but now we've tied him to a rocker and he's ours for good. Kinda like Hotel California - you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave!

Mary - Way to go on your test results!! Sounds like you have a big anniversary to celebrate in April! We'll have to plan an S2K party. :D

Dennis - Congrats on your 3000th post, and thanks for saving it for us here! 8-)

Happy New Year to all!!

Welcome to the Pot Belly Stove, Kelly and Mark! :D

I remember Crouton, Clarabelle and Slowpoke from the TWC Boards, but it was never mentioned that they were our pot-bellied pig, our cow and our armadillo, respectively as the days and weeks went by.

Have a safe and happy new year. Just saw on CNN Headline News that today would have been the anniversary of Roy Rogers and Dale Evans...married in 1947. Tonight, one of our guests is Roy's sister's son..his nephew. I'll let you know if he pulls up on Trigger!

I'll join you in 2004!

Its raining, its pouring....the snowman is snoring! ;)
Sorry dennis....couldn't resist. ;)

I had to picture something that had to do with winter..... I am sitting here on 2 January 2004 with 38* and rain! :o Dead serious.... As for snowfall, it is lack there of! We are 18" behind schedule for this year :o :o .... the total snowfall for the year is posted in my signature......ONLY 3" in Green Bay.... and it basically melted upon arrival. We did not have a white christmas. :o But that is expected to change shortly.... Saturday high around midnight....temperatures constantly fallling throughout the day. Monday highs in the teens..... Tuesday high around +2* YIKES!!!! quite a contrast from today! That is Wisconsin weather for you!

Well.... that day is approaching and I'm counting down.... I would say 3 weeks, but 18 days is more (numerically).... so I'll use that. Push ups and sit ups are coming along nicely, already exceeding the recommended values :D ..... but Running (cough, cough) that's another story! My legs will be jello when I'm done running, but that is the consequence that I chose. I've been filled in via a lifeguard at work (she was active AF.... and clued me in on the processes that she remembers from her experience at BMT)

Have a wonderful weekend everyone :D :D

Linda - thanks so much! Me too.

But I was contemplating sharing this with you all or not. You see I'm on a five-year plan for annual tests to rule out mets - or cancer returning. Docs don't see it coming back and to be honest I don't either! But I have vowed to never miss appts. and so I am a good patient. I couldn't get my regular gastro doc and took another. He walked right in the exam room and asked - why are you getting annual colonoscopies? I said uh, well, I'm on a five-year plan and went down the numerous list of tests. He said you should be coming in every 3 to 5 years! I was absolutely floored. I stared at him, I was about to be sedated and already steam was coming out of my ears. He then muttered something about if it really was cancer.....I found my voice then and there. I said YES IT WAS, IT WAS MALIGNANT! I explained how it was diagnosed, by his partner in fact. Right there in my chart! Yes I just imagined having cancer....uh huh, that's the ticket. Silly female. He grumbled and said oh okay. I should have blurted out hey buddy my dad died from colon cancer. Or said yank this IV, I'm outta here. But I followed thru with the test since I had gone thru the prep, wouldn't want to waste that. I have heard patients say all sorts of things while under. I honestly hope I told him off! This past week has been so busy but on my agenda this week are several calls - one to my colon doc, she will be livid hopefully. As I am! And another to his partner, my reg gastro doc. They are both hearing from me! This is a first, I swear. All the doctors in my care have been so nice. Doctors are always trying to get patients to get tested and when they have one lying on the exam table, that is not the time to scold them! That is just how I felt - as if I was getting a scolding. I am still mad, one week later. And this rude doc will hear about it too.

Sorry about that folks. I'm still mad, LOL!!! Thanks for reading and your support, in advance.

Mary
