Her funeral will be on Jan 6 at 2 pm. We are waiting on my brother to fly in from Calif. I want to thank all who posted in this thread for your support. It means a great deal to me to know that so many care.

I lost my dad 1/6/03 ... so it'll be a year on Tuesday. (just saying that for anyone who didn't know, it also helps me to talk about it) I also know the feeling. :cry:

My mom has been gone for nearly 32 years...I've been without her longer than the years by her side. Like your mom, she was a homemaker who took pride in her family, her cooking, her friends, and her contribution. She was just 56 when she died.

You will ask yourself a million times what it would have been like had she been around, but then again you will experience so many wonderful things in the years to come as well.

I have a copy of her simple funeral note kept in the bible she gave me when I turned 16.

Just picking up that book and opening to the pages brings me close to her when I feel the need.

May God bless your family at this difficult time, and me you feel the same connection throughout your lifetime as I still can after more than 30 years.
