'Tis a good question. I'm by no means an expert around here (I have a MET degree, but pursued a more local & lucrative option), but it seems to me that the "12th" system might not be as deep as originally thought. Might be a near miss for the Mid-Atlantic. There is the potential for something upstream of that one to swing through later in the week and give us a better shot, but I'll leave that to the medium range models to handle in the coming days.

Like DT said in an earlier post, it's going to hinge on the longwave trough and whether it retrogrades enough to give us a decent storm track. Also, as it stands now, it looks like the PJ might be a bit too strong to allow a system to turn the corner.

I'm probably talking out my ass by this point, though. A glass of wine and 2 Jager/Root Beer drinks (what the heck are they called, anyway) could be a bit too much for a Monday!

Basically, I'm going to defer to the pros/experts on this one, but will chime in as things become clearer in my head (which is out of the question tonight  and likely to happen after the stronger folks 'round here).

My post that pertained to DT was not meant to deny you credit but to inform people that they could find his discussion there. I'm sorry if it came across the wrong way. That was not my intent at all.
