Life in the fast lane could be coming to an end for truckers on Interstate 30 in Fort Worth.
The left lane would be off-limits for tractor-trailers and other large vehicles under a proposal the Police Department is expected to make today to the Fort Worth City Council. The ban would cover the entire 15-mile stretch of the freeway within city limits.
Opponents said there's no proof that forcing big rigs to the right makes roads safer. But commuters may embrace the idea.
