Maybe it's just the initial thrill value but I'm VERY pleased with the Sheryl Crow DVD I just bought a few days ago. :)

A Golden Retriever 2 month old Puppy! We named her Hope. She's included in our family photo in the Gallery. I honestly cannot imagine my life without her. She's my shadow all day long, following me all over the house. I refer to her as my third daughter. Didn't give birth to her, but boy I feel like I did! And I resisted getting a dog for many years......I'm such a dog person now.

In terms of cost/benefit, probably my 3-cell Mag-lite flashlight. It's 20+ years old, been dropped innumerable times, been underwater - you name it. It still works as good as new.

Well as far as money and reinvestment, I would say my house. The far better investment as far as my well being, I would have to say ( Like Mary) it would be my "terrible terrier" Ernie. He has seen me thru many sad times and has always been by my side.

On the useful (and habit-forming) side of my life, the nightly gentle noisemaking Sleep-mate sound machine. It has successfully blocked out both the silence and unwanted background noise for me and my family (my boys each have one, even Emma has one!) Have had one by our bed since 1971!

From an investment standpoint...our homes have always done well. Location..location...location!

For entertainment value...it has to be my computer. The whole world is mine...the good, the bad, the ugly...and that's just here on Storm2k (LOL, that's a joke!)

It's a toss-up between my house and my car. My car is nearly 12 years old and has 154,000 miles on it - but it still works. 8-)
