while i am far from one of Bush's supporters, if Tony Blairs government falls (which is unlikely) that in no way means bush should be impeached.

also since many of the conservative party actually supports blair on the war issue, any vote of no confidence would fail.

a more possible outcome is that his party remains in power but he is deposed as leader (and thus is no longer PM). but this doesnt happen often. the most recent example being thatcher replaced by john major.
but this is still very rare in british politics.

unlike Italy, Israel and several other governments with a parlamentry form of government, England has a long history of stable governments with power only changing hands thru regularly scheduled elections. in other countries the PM is in power thru precarious coalitons which fall rather easily.

Ken starr was the one who made it a big deal. It was a family issue and nothing else. It was consensual it wasn't rape. And yes there were huge protests and riots during president bush's inaguration. Reporters thought this would be the biggest story of their careers before the 9/11 attacks.

Wow, denying someone their due process is not a big deal. Sexual harassment is not a big deal at all. If you had a sister who was harassed as was Paula Jones, I'm sure you would wake up and realize that sexual harassment is a big deal

snip < People want to blame Bush for our economy??The reason our economy is in the state it is in because of September 11th>

actually the economy was already in the toliet before 9/11. what happened that day just made the recession much deeper and tougher to come out of.

as far as the scandals that clinton went thru, the whole ken starr investigations began with whitewater. which was a failed land deal that happened before he became president. But ken starr found nothing to pin on clinton about that. so he was pushed by republicans to keep digging up dirt. until he found something that stuck. the fact that he had an affair and lied about it. not exactly what i wanted a special prosecutor, who spent over $30million on, to come up with, no matter who the president was/is.

while i agree clinton should have fessed up right away about his affair, it was definately a waste of money spent by the special prosecutor office.

(and lets face it clinton was not the first sitting president to have an affair while in office. Horace Harding had a stroke while in bed with his Gf. FDR had a long term affair which elenor knew about. Ike had one with a female driver. JFK of course had marilyn monroe et al. he was just the first to have to become such widely talked about common knowledge while he was in office.)

For the record...committing perjury before a grand jury is a felony, which should alone have been enough to impeach any President; the only thing that saved Clinton's @$$ was his Party voting to retain him by NOT following the law of the land.

And that was WARREN Harding, wbh...history, apparently, is not your "strong suit".

I guess committing perjury is ok with the Clinton supporters. That's a great example our then President set for the nation...
