Bush unvails illegals to work policy:Do you favor it or not?
http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/01/ ... index.html
This issue will be a hot one at election time as I heard some conservatives are against this policy because it will have the effect to not let americans get more jobs. But I am neutral here because I dont live nor have the right to vote for president and that is why here there is a growing movement for statehood.

I'm against it too. This is the one policy of this administration I have a huge problem with.
I keep hearing....the illegals are doing the jobs that they can't get any Americans to do...blah blah blah.
I've got a better idea for all these Mexicans that want to work over here in the USA. Why not put them on the border...line them up shoulder to shoulder. It wouldn't cost that much...after all...they are doing the minimum wage jobs that no americans want to do. A bucks a buck..I'm sure they wouldn't care what job they had to do to make a dollar.
Round up all the illegals and tell them we have a new job description for them..border patrol agents. They will like that. Don't arm them...just give them clubs or something. A condition of them staying gainfully employed will be to make sure none of their illegal neighbors make it across the border alive. After they have completed 6 months of acceptable work performance, they can become eligible for citizenship and pursuit of a higher paying job if they so choose. Fail however, and they get put on the other side of the fence.
ok....there has got to be a better idea, I admit, ..I'm with Linda....if they are here illegally, get them out of the country NOW.

I agree with Lindaloo and J. The Key word here is Illegal. Illegal aliens aren't supposed to be in this country and while we are trying to keep track of them it takes away valuable resources that can be used elsewhere. I don't care what they are willing to do..job wise. If they aren't here legally. Deport them all. Hopefully there is a change of heart on this matter.

At a time in our history when we should be CLOSING borders, THIS comes up?
Yet, at the same time, the Democrats who have responded want even MORE openness, "rights", etc. accorded to illegals. I've spent the last hour listening to the "loyal (?) opposition" demanding better pay, driver's licenses for illegals (remember, in some states, a driver's license is all one needs to VOTE; imagine all the non-citizens being given THAT opportunity?), etc.
Between them, Bush's latest addressing of the issue is the best of two ugly alternatives.

It would be a lot cheaper and safer to deport them..rather than signing them up to work. Just for the record as many of you already know.. I have no problem with races just illegal immigrantscycloneye wrote:I just heard that the US has around 10,000,000 millon indocumented people wow that is a lot of people.

As I said in my lead post I am neutral about this but IMO having over 10,000,000 millon illegals in the US is a big problem like you said about the money but also security concerns have to be considered here because any terrorist can sneak into the US.

I am against it as well although if they want to come here LEGALLY and do the jobs that I know no one wants to do -- then that is fine. Otherwise, no.
Bush made a mistake here I think.
