Thank Goodness for Thursday!!!!

#1 Postby Guest » Thu Jan 08, 2004 8:24 am

Thank Goodness its Thursday.....the first full week of being back to work for alot of folks who took timeoff during the holidays. How is everyone surviving? I am swamped at work - besides taking up the slack of my regular employee being out on maternity leave - I have to get out 1099's and month-end closing. I am so glad tomorrow's Friday and two days off for the weekend....why can't the just be longer.... :-)

I was swamped on Monday and Tuesday. Got caught up late Tuesday evening. Nothing was entered into the main NCIC computer system so I had about 200 to enter. I was cross eyed Monday evening. lol.

Ticka - I feel for you being an ex-General Ledger manager. They're in the middle of year-end closing, which between the auditors and various statements to be filed, it isn't done until the end of March. THEN it's time for the first quarter close. UGHH!!!

I'm looking forward to the weekend to sleep in. We had to work last Saturday because my department is helping the General Ledger department since they have people out on maternity leave. I've been falling asleep earlier than normal this week. I'm sure it'll be an early Friday night for me!

Its a cake down here in the south to celebrate Mardi Gras - usually there is a prize or little plastic baby - if you get it in your portion of the cake - there are lots of traditions that go with it.....

Thanks for the info, Ticka. I actually thought it was either a reference to the three kings who visited Jesus (which occured after Christmas), or a reference to Martin Luther King (MLK Day is next week).

I was wondering the same thing, bliz. I thought it maybe had something to do with Martin Luther King's birthday. Or .... :King:

LOL...I did some research on the King Cake too, and it seems that alot of them are made in New York, of all places, and overnighted to New Orleans for Mardi Gras.

LOL
