I've had the tornado dream, but also had another weather geek related dream.... flying with the Hurricane Hunters!

I have only had the tornado dream once. And every detail seemed VERY real. It was a summer evening, around 7 PM. My wife had not yet arrived home from work. I knew there was severe weather approaching. I turned on TWC for my local forecast and noticed a tornado watch for my area, and then saw the approaching storms on radar. They looked NASTY. I went to my front door to see what the sky looked like and it was getting very dark to the west. The wind started picking up and then in the distance I saw a funnel cloud form. I was mesmerized as I watched it get closer and closer. Then I yelled out an explitive as I realized it was coming straight for my house. I slammed the door and started making a run for the basement - at which point I woke up. This dream occured nearly 3 years ago and my memories of it are so vivid, it feels like it really happened.

Other than that, I often have dreams of being in the house I grew up in. And also a lot of dreams about seeing a very bizarre 5 day forecast (such as a forecast for snow today with a high of 15 degrees, then 84 degrees and sunny tomorrow, followed by an ice storm and 30 degrees the next day, etc)

Another (non testosterone-laden) dream I can remember having a few times is that a cat 5 hurricane is headed for Long Island, and an evacuation order is in place for the ENTIRE ISLAND. So we hit the road, and police and national guard are everywhere, in full gear with rifles, directing traffic. The weird part is that we realize that all the traffic is being directed TOWARDS the coast!

Unfortunately, that dream wouldn't be that far from the truth...

You know...I have seen a killer tornado in person while it was killing and maiming and yet I don't ever recall a dream about it! So while some of you dream about tornadoes you'd like to see, I don't dream about them, and I've seen the worst!

Don't much care about those dreams where I am drawn to the light. Usually wake up when it gets too bright. Guess that means it is not my time yet.

I hope not for a LONG TIME!!

That is pretty interesting Steve about the tornado - I would think you would still be having nightmares about it after all this time!
