Hate groups

I am not surprised that "hate" organizations such as the ACLU, NOW, Americans United for Peace and Freedom (?...a cover group for old-line, disenfranchised Communists) etc. weren't profiled as well...yet I did see "conservative" groups so designated.

BTW, the Southern Poverty Law Center is one of the LAST leftist groups I'd go to for accurate information about this subject...many of the organizations listed merely oppose their sociopolitical agenda.

This does NOT imply approval of Nazis, Klansmen, neo-nutcases, some so-called "Christians", etc...and I am particularly appalled at Klansmen using the title "Knights Templar" in their names, as I am a Companion Sir Knight of the ancient Masonic chivalric Order which has held that distinction for at least the past 400 years.

great post soldier. the most hate and intolerance in the country now comes from left wing enviro nuts, peta, and liberals. look at college campuses. they are quickly labeling and banning any speech that is conservative. and you are right about the southernpoverty law center, hardly an unbiased place to find hate groups.

i dont agree with o'rielly often(sometimes i think he is an overheated, self promoting wind bag). but he is right about the aclu. they are the most dangerous organization in america today. thier assault on relgion and tradional values is full of hate.

If you guys read the website, I believe it said a hate group was defined as a group dedicated to attack or malign a particular group with "immutable" traits (that would be race, gender, sexuality, etc.). You can change your political affiliation (although I wouldn't want to) or whether you eat meat or not. As much as I abhor NOW, I wouldn't really call them a hate group. They don't malign or attack men although some of their members are militant butch freaks (ick!), who happen to hate men. I really don't know what to call NOW except a "liberal, anti-baby bunch of freaky buzz-cut feminazis."

umm, a convenient liberal definition, lol!! many college campuses, and hs's are now banning any speech against a homosexual lifestyle, just an example. liberal hate is more broad, and thus less quantifiable. but i stand by my statement that the real hate and intolerance in this country lies in the leftist groups.

also, the kkk and neo-nazis have no input into policy decisions in this country. on the other hand, peta, enviros, and the aclu have major impacts on our daily lives
p.s.-of course there are the idiotic neo-nazis, and kkk, but i dont know of 2 groups where hate resides more than in peta and the enviro nuts. plus, the enviro's have shown they are quite willing to engage in terrorism.

And since when was the Klan classified as "conservative?" I thought we discussed this once before. Klansmen tend to be southern Dems, right? From what I saw in KY, it was a majority of KKKers who were. It was Dems who stood outside schools to stop desegregation. And it was Dem plantation owners (read that twice and tell me it doesn't sound "Suth'un" ) who fought to keep slavery and fought to keep word of the Emancipation Proclamation from reaching Galveston until June 19th.

Wasn't able to click on the states last night since graphics are loading slow at home. Was not surprised at what I found in TX or KY, although I don't know why they didn't include Santa Fe, TX.

Forgot to mention PETA. There's no doubt PETA qualifies as a hate group. But, again, consider the source -- a liberal website.

Think of them as in the United States Code definition of "militia"...there is the "organized" (Regulars, Reserves, National Guard) and the "unorganized" (every citizen between 17 and 46).

Same goes for "hate groups".

I also noted that some "Confederate" groups listed are actually comprised of historians, re-enactors and decendants of former Southern soldiers...all of which I am, or have been in days past.
