I am now with A T & T Wireless.

But, it depends on where you are located. Sprint here, is worthless because we have coverage only along main roadways, such as Interstate highways and other heavily trafficed roads. If you get a couple miles away from those roads, you are screwed with sprint. Check coverage before signing on with ANY plan.

I wanted to surprise my son with a new cell phone for the holidays, so I called verizon and asked them if I bought another phone, could it be activated later. Verizon said yes. I proceeded to purchase the phone at Circuit City where they said the phone must be acivated at same time of purchase of phone. Since this was a surprise, I purchased a circity City Gift Card. We went to the store to use the card and circit city tells us we can't upgrade the phone at the store. So I called Verizon and they this was untrue. You could do everything at the circit city store. So once again we went back to circit city store and they said no. I got back on phone with 2 Verizon supervisors who confirm that you must go to a Verizon location. Had I known this from the beginning, the gift card would have been purchased at Verizon. I dont want or need to spend $100.00 on other things other than a phone at Circit City. I dont think this is a unreasonable request. I told them if they don't honor my request, I will cancel my service with them.

My guess is that you bought through a agent of Verizon. You should have bought from a Verizon only store like a koisk at a mall. My wife worked for 2 years at Cingular and dealt with this daily. She left there a month ago and we have Verizon now with no problems.

I would demand circuit city refund the money.

Do you have a receipt for your purchase of the gift card? Seems to me you can just get your money back that way...or show proof of purchase on your credit card statement (if you went that route).

"Can you hear me now?"

We LOVE Verizon, we've got a 1000 mobile to mobile minutes, with "FREE" weekends and weeknights, all for 45$ a month! You can't find a LANDLINE that cheap!

Sprint is terrible

#19 Postby george_r_1961 » Mon Jan 12, 2004 6:00 pm

After having Sprint for 5 years i dumped them. Their customer service is horrible; I had to wait nearly an hour in line at a local Sprint store just to buy a an accessory. There were 2 reps helping customers....3 more at their computer screens not helping customers..and a manager who stuck her head out of her office every few minutes without lifting a finger to help. Even more abyssmal is their "Customer Care" line. You wait sometimes for 30 minues before anyone answers..then are put on hold again for another 30 minutes. All the while you get to listen to soothing elevator music along with a recording saying "You call is important to us; please wait for the next available representative" Dropped calls were a problem as were "dead zones" I now have Ntelos. Ive had a few minor problems with them but they were quickly fixed. Their Customer Care hotline is usually answered by a live person after minimal hold time and questions/problems are quickly resolved.
