Any Phobias?
So....do you have any kind of phobias? I just made a post and it made me think of this, I CAN'T STAND driving in a car/pickup with the windows up, I wouldn't call it clastraphobia but, then again. I also HATE spiders, can't spell the phobia for that "LOL!"

Arachnaphobia, and I have it too. Only other thing that freaks me out is when Mr. EB and I got hiking, he finds it really amusing to walk way out to the edge of a mountain so he can get a better look. I have threatened to divorce him over this. Scares me to death. Oh, one more, I DON'T DO ROLLER COASTERS.

I have a phobia of making left hand turns onto a busy street without a traffic light. Probably stems from getting creamed doing that by a BMW doing about 60 mph in 1989. I'll drive my wife crazy by going a mile or more out of my way to get a light or circle around to avoid it.
Snakes can stay the bleep away from me too.

Yup...that's another ONE I forgot about, HEIGHTS! Michelle does the SAME thing, in fact, she use to rock climb, it would scare the living daylights outta me when she'd ask me to walk to the edge and watch her go over

I guess my main phobia is something happening to my children. I don't know if that qualifies as a phobia, but it is real.
As I get older, I find out there are more things that I have a phobia of that I never did when I was younger. Call it life experience creating the phobias, or whatever. One of them is extreme heights. I can handle heights up to about 50 - 60 feet, but higher than that, I get a serious case of vertigo and it is just freaky. I can stand at the edge of a tall building and look over, but I do not care for the feeling too much. Also being buried alive has always been something I've feared.

Me either! Or any ride that contains sudden drops (like the Pirate Ship). Also, I do have a public speaking phobia. I am usually OK talking to a small group of people, but once I have to get in front of more than 10 people to talk, I become a nervous wreck. Oh, and don't get me started on getting stuck by a doctor or nurse with a needle. I am already feeling ill thinking about it.

Claustrophioa is my worst one. I used to have a fear of flying on an airplane - but had to conquer that one because of my job.
what do you call the fear of roaches - I hate them things...spiders and snakes - I don't enjoy - but I less likely to freak out over them..
Heights don't bother me as long as I am in control!!!!

I have a fear of of bad thunderstormsthat have really loud thunder and lightning bolts that flash like a strobe light. It all goes back to having gone thru Hurricane Donna as a child . Regular everyday thunderstorms do notbring this fear out but once in a while we get really severe thunderstorms and then I will not look out the window, I cover the windows to keep from seeing and I put my hands over my ears when the thunder starts. What can I say ? Irrational I know but at least it didn't need a doctor to figure it out for me.

Rainbows.
No, seriously, I don't fear the creepy crawly things or heights or storms. But I'll confess I'm a bit of a homophobe. Not fear that someone will think I'm gay (duh!). But I just don't like hanging with the rainbow, banner-waving, militant gay crowd. And don't get me started on women who don't look like women. *shiver* Ick!

ROFL!
Ok, I'll reword that. "Women who look like men!" I mean, short haircuts on some are fine (Dr. Weaver on ER still looks like a woman, Det. Benson on SVU still looks like a woman, and Faith Hill, if she'll ever decide on a hairstyle and stick with it, definitely looks like a woman). But ugh...some of them...I don't even think those Queer Eye guys could help them.

I can't stand anyone driving except myself (don't like being tied to someone else's "imperative", stuck there, etc; have to be able to disengage at will)...also, large crowds in general, unless I'm the "keynote speaker" (no public speaking problems here).
It's a relatively mild form of agoraphobia (lit: "fear of the marketplace").

You know, I should have this one saying that I have been in 9 car accidents, and was only behind the wheel of 3 of them!! (Mine were quick trips in the ditch, lol!) But I am still ok to ride with someone else as long as they slow down for curves!!!
Mine are much of the same, mild case of claustrophobia (usually elevators), heights, and spiders! So imagine how I felt when I was in Kansas City and decided to ride the 18 story GLASS ELEVATOR!!! Oh my god, I bout lost it! But then I felt proud that I did it!
Far as roller coasters? I'm not sure, I always chickened out, but now I have a nagging that makes me want to do it, maybe only once, but just so that I can say I did!! Never been on a coaster that goes upside down!!
