My Call on Precip Types & Amounts. MAP included!

#1 Postby Guest » Fri Jan 16, 2004 3:28 pm

Well this is no easy task as temps will be boarderline. Whats new.
Anyways i expect the heaviest amounts of snow to fall from central/southern WI over into MI and NE Indiana and on over into Central and Northern OH with some areas possibly getting up to a half of foot of snow when it winds down sunday morning. South of these areas you will run into a mixed bag of precip in the form of snow, sleet and freezing rain with snow amounts ranging from 1 - 3 inches and icing up to a quarter of a inch possible. Farther south you will run into a moderate icestorm with .25 accumulation of ice expected. Could be higher amounts of everything in all areas depending on how much moisture gets pulled north. The southern extent of the ice should change over to all rain and end except in southern OH/WV where the rain may change back to a mixed bag before ending Sunday night/Monday.

The most tricky area will be in the MA in the DC to Philly corridor for now all i will say is to check back in later for a better update on this in this region for what you can expect. Risght now i do have these areas included on my map but this is the one area that may need to be updated later on.

Looks good, but I am doubtful that my area will receive 2 to 4 inches of snow. Maybe 1 to 2.

Yep John thats why i mentioned well should of said areas east of the apps i have my doubts about..............Thats a tough call over there. I will more then likely put out a updated map for your area and others east of the apps later on.

This is one of those low confidence storms for most areas from the OV to the eastcoast. Can swing either way with precip amounts and precip types.
