 Oh jacki, ((Hugs)) to you. How very sad. I can't even imagine how that family must feel. I wish you peace of mind and gentle thoughts. I'll definitely pray for that family and for you. This certainly is a family at Storm2K. If you need to talk this out, I'm here as are many others. I know what a shock an early death can be. I've been there. Hold on girl. God loves you.

Thanks Karan!! (((hugs)))

Things are going semi-normal at work...tomorrow we are having a moment of silence, and the visitation will probably be tomorrow with the funeral on Monday...just such a sad thing!!

Prayers to you and your co-worker's family, Jacki-Lynne. 24 is SO young...and the loss is magnified a thousand times by all the possibilities that seem lost when that happens. Tires can be replaced....but people can not.

Perhaps we can take a moment of silence for our artist friend Pawlee who has been informed that his father is in his last days. Paul has struggled i his relationship with his dad for many years, so my prayer is for a peaceful passing that finds Paul, too, in more harmony with his father.

...and for me, if you might, a prayer for some painfree hours. Seems I contracted a fiery bout with shingles over the last week and the pain has allowed little sleep. Meds are working, I suspect, but the pain is as fiesty as it was a week ago. Just a little help from my friends, please....

And may you be blessed with a safe and warm weekend wherever you are.

Steve,
You are in my prayers for relief from your pain and ailment. The wife has fought it before and it isn't any fun!!!!

Thanks for letting us know about Paul. I had no idea and he and I do keep in touch. He and his Dad and the whole family will be in the prayers I offer up to our Lord.

Jacki, what a tragedy and even though you did not know him well it affects you and all of your coworkers as well. I am keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers as well as prayers for comfort for his family.

And while we are at it I would ask a simple prayer for me and my job situation. Apparently someone thinks I am not doing my job and has gone to the boss about it instead of letting me know how I can improve on my performance. I won't bore you with details, but I really was floored by the poor review I got out of the blue yesterday. I simply ask for prayers to our Lord that my job situation be as he wants it to be and that I be directed accordingly in my actions. I do find it strange that I have been contacted by no less than 3 different recruiters in the last 2 weeks about other jobs, some of which I am having my resume sent in for. I was not actively looking since I thought all was well at my current job.

Steve, that is so very painful. I'd send you hugs but that would only hurt. My prayers are for a speedy recovery.

Pawlee and his Dad will also be in my prayers. He is such a great guy.

David, who do you want me to beat up - just give me his name and I'll be down. That really hurts when someone doesn't have the guts to face you. You know you're in my prayers.

Jackie - I am so sorry to hear about your co-worker.

Steve - Fortunately I've never had shingles and I hope I never will. I'm glad to hear that the medicine is working.

Pawlee - I'm so sorry to hear about your father.

David - sometimes someone who does somehting like that can feel threatened by you or are jealous. That could be the reason why they didn't approach you in the first place. I hope it resolves itself quickly.

Everyone is in my prayers!

Stephanie, I think you hit it on the button. There is only one guy besides the owners there that is at an engineer level(EIT actually). From day one I thought he was threatened by me and my experirience. I have caught several BIG mistakes of his and corrected them and of course have told him about them in a way that is not threatening. I ask questions before I make big changes since I am the new man, etc. Yet the owner told me that I wasn't doing what they expected and that i was too slow. If I am so slow why do I continually have to ask for work? The conversation on Fri. evening would have been a lot longer with many things like this brought up but he made it very clear there would be no further discussion even though I tried to open it up. In fact I probably poed him by insisting that he hear some of what I had to say. I am now activly looking again even though I haven't been let go. It is obvious I am not going to fit in like I thought I would and he has made up his mind apparently so... I know God is always at work in our lives and I trust I will be placed where God needs me most. Actually, I'm not so sure it isn't a lie so he can let me go because he really doesn't have the work he thought he had. I am hearing 2 different stories about work amounts. One is that we can't cut some lose yet because of problems beyond our control(from the person I suspect), and the other from the boss, that I am holding them back. I refer that back to why am I always having to ask for more work? Enough of my whining. Thanks for your thoughs and prayers everyone.

Steve, my prayers are with you during this painful time. You were such a Godsend to me when I was having problems, I can only hope my prayers send some comfort your way.

David, what a complete mess. I have been in this situation more times than I care to count and ALWAYS gotten the short end of the stick. I'm sure the fact that this is going on and you still have to work there makes it even worse. Know that I am praying for you daily and pray God shows you the path he wants you to take. Until something else becomes available, know that you will not endure more than you can take and that somehow you will come out the victor in this situation.

Hugs to both of my dear friends.

Steve.....I've heard horror stories about the shingles, rest assured my dear friend, prayers are being layed at the Fathers feet as I type this.

David, Stephanie is right! People are insecure these days with about their own lifes that they will go to ANY lengths to *move up the ladder* ie "brown nose". Here's hoping everything works out and another you find another job.

Pawlee, I know what your going thru first hand, my fathers health is failing fast also and I cannot make amends with him due to a situation that everyone knows about (my stepbrother)......we can only hope and pray that the Lord will step in and help resolve these matters before they (our fathers) are called home or at least give our fathers the knowledge that we do care and love them.

Jackie, I'm so sorry to hear about your co worker, I pray that the family will find peace in their time of grief.

David - this is probably just a stepping stone; a way for you to bring in some much needed cash before the job that you really deserve comes along. I hope it comes along soon buddy!

Suzi Q - good to see you here!

You guys are the greatest!! I know the Lord is at work here. Today was a little tense, but only because the boss and his wife can't seem to handle being around someone he has giver a bad report to. I forced him to say goodbye to me this evening(by saying loudly as I left Goodbye Gene so I knew he would hear it) since he couldn't say good morning to me face to face this morning.

SuziQ is is so good to see you here again. Thanks for the kind words. They mean a lot and are definitely a comfort.

Prayers are going out to anyone who needs them right now, and it appears that I will need them again too.

My dad has gotten my family in such a financial problem that my mom is going to proceed with the divorce, and they will probably never see eachother again. If my dad cuts us off financially, we can just about say, we're done. We will have to move into an apartment or something.

So, PLEASE PLEASE keep us in your prayers. Thanks.

First of all...thanks so much for the prayers on my behalf. They help me most at night when I am pacing the floor and looking for relief. Shingles is a painful experience...I am just now able to work 6 or 7 hours a day. It has had a grip on me since the 10th. If you ever experience it, get help early. Every day on anti-virus meds can speed the recovery.

A bit of humor surrounding my bout with shingles. Rumors fly at work, you know, and when I don't show up to work the staff KNOW it's a big deal. I never miss work. Well, a couple of the guys couldn't remember what I was suffering from, but could remember it started with an "S."

Over the weekend, I got an email at home from our HR person who said, "Steve, sure hope you are feeling better! But you should know that you are a big HERO to some of the young guys out in production...even at YOUR age! The reason being....word is out that you contracted Syphillis. So don't be surprised when you come back and they walk up to you and say, 'way to go, boss! Glad you're having so much fun these days!'"

Syphillis? Shingles? Not quite the same. But it made me laugh. I did remind the guys that it just wasn't worth it and let it go at that!

David...my prayers to you my friend. Mostly, remember not to doubt yourself. You know who you are and what you can do. More than that, you know what you stand for. Represent those things and indeed God will light your way.

And Colin, remember this..."If my dad cuts us off financially, we can just about say, we're done. We will have to move into an apartment or something" is the way it looks right now. But it is never, ever that desperate. There will be a way through it that will make you a stronger person. It really REALLY works that way. You've got the right stuff to get through it. We'll help with our prayers.
