the ammounts on this map are correct, they are in the wrong places though. That 4-6 needs to be moved to include more of northern NJ and the 3-5 needs to cover central NJ and the 1-3 is good for south NJ. My area will receive 3-5 from this storm

maybe so, as far as the amount that actually falls, but after it changes to sleet and rain, you can watch your accumulations shrink.

well I have about 7 inches of snow on the ground from wednesday nights and thursdays storm. I know that it is NOT GOING TO CHANGE TO RAIN!!! i forsee 3 to 5 inches in my area. Even if it did change to a mix the totals would not shrink that much. Did you make that map or did it come from somewhere else. right now it's 28 in my area and that temp will go down from there so... all snow, and no mix

Yes, I made the map...it is subject to change. I may update late this evening. Don't get angry man....time will tell. Remember that the wetter model solutions are also the warmer ones...which is what I am basing my forecast on.

quite a snowy scene for Patriots, and we know they love to play in the snow :lol:

1evans - wouldn't be so sure of that 3-5" prediction on the Monmouth/Ocean County Jersey Coast. NWS says you get up to 2", then rain and so does Gary Grey. In fact, I find it interesting that the NWS-Mt. Holly has Middlesex County as high as 2-4" of snow, before a changeover to freezing rain, while the NWS-Upton has NYC and adjacent suburbs, like western LI and NE NJ (Union, Hudson Counties, which essentially receive the same wintry precip as Middlesex County usually, but are under different NWS offices) as only getting 1-2" before a changeover to plain rain. Clearly the two offices are not in sync at this time. I hope the Mt. Holly office is correct, as I'd like more snow. Also, Gary Grey's forecast, is closer to the Mt. Holly forecast, as he has 2-4" for Middlesex, Union, Hudson, Essex Counties in NJ, as well as for all of the 5 boroughs of NYC and western LI. His line to go down to 1-2", due to rain intrusion, is more like eastern LI down through about Sandy Hook NJ and over across to just south of Trenton. Putting Brick firmly in his 1-2" estimate. Gary also has an area of potentially significant icing, mainly from DC to Philly and areas west and NW of that line. For what it's worth, Mr. Grey has easily been the best forecaster of winter events in the NE for at least the last few years.
