PR is forecast to have very high surf occuring on its North Atlantic coast. We are experiencing the same in St Maarten . Does anyone from PR ( cycloneye?) know when this is forecast to subside? Also what is causing it?

That high surf was caused by a strong low pressure in the north atlantic but that low is moving NE so the surf will subside tonight here in PR.

Already as I type this at 6:46 PM AST the waves are down to 4-6 feet from 8-11 feet that were for the past 3 days and the small craft advisory and the high surf advisorys haved been cancelled.
