You must be North of Houston. I put Houston, TX in the search box, since I don't know of any zip's over there. I put in 75088 which is Rowlett, TX, just east of Dallas. They are also showing Snow Showers that day.

Interesting that I put my own zipcode, 70769 and it shows Rain/Snow Showers on 1/29. I live south of Baton Rouge.

And from the Dallas-Ft Worth NWS Discussion....

.LONG TERM...
ALL LONG RANGE MODELS INDICATE FULL-CONTINENTAL TROUGH DEVELOPING
FIRST OF NEXT WEEK WITH STRONG INDICATIONS THAT 1040MB PLUS ARCTIC
HIGH WILL MOVE OUT OF SIBERIA...ACROSS WESTERN CANADA AND SINKING
SOUTHWARD THROUGH THE PLAINS NEXT WEEK. FIRST ARCTIC INTRUSION IS
EXPECTED MONDAY EVENING NORTH OF I-20 FOLLOWED BY A STRONGER SURGE
EARLY WEDNESDAY. ANY POTENTIAL FOR WINTRY PRECIPITATION WILL BE
LATE NEXT WEEK AND BEYOND THIS FORECAST. 75

I like the part about Snow Showers with a High of 49 and low of 36. Doesn't this imply that snow will have to form in the upper-levels and there will be sub-freezing temps almost to ground-level; with a shallow piece of above freezing temps at the surface? That seems like a bold forecast to make this far out. :)

For Sugarland, sure enough, it says snows showers. But that's TWC, not NWS. :)

In my opinion all this is bogus. There is no such thing as winter down here in the South.

Somebody must have awakened at TWC. It doesn't show it now.

The forecasts have been updated and the mention of snow is gone over at weather.com.
