No no, Marlena and Samantha were real twins on the show, Samantha was killed by the first Salem Serial Killer, the Salem Strangler. Then...fast foward to about 3 years ago, Hattie came to Salem, but she just happened to look like Marlena, she wasn't related.
So Hattie isn't actually Marlena's triplet, but she was played by Deidre's twin. Help any?

Jacki - oh that is so funny to read!!!! I can see why soaps disgust some people. They don't bother me but I'm just not into any current ones. I kinda get it now. Thanx!

ROFLMBO!!!!!! I know soaps can pull some weird stunts, Garrett, especially when it comes to who's related to whom and who's alive and who's really dead.
But I think you meant to say "offspring" not "siblings."
Then again, I could be wrong. As fast as they age soap kids these days, there's no telling.

Oops Shawn. I did mean children or offspring.
Silly me.

Miss Mary
Thanks for the reminder to watch Days Shawn. Either I'll be so glad I quit watching years ago or I'll miss it again. Either way I think I'll be very disappointed. Even though I loved Tony back then, I almost wish it was him. To have it be Marlena, Roman, John, Bo, Hope, OMG, any of them is just wrong!

See I knew it!!! Didn't I read somewhere that when Tao P. (Tony) came back, it was to be revealed later that he was his evil twin and not Tony actually? I missed that evil Tony twin stage, but the Tony I remember wouldn't be a murderer. But I'll watch today but won't hold my breath until next xmas......LOL

I thought they said it would be a twist that had never been done before (is there a twist that's never been done before on a soap?).
Let's see --
twins
triplets
look-alikes with masks
clones
returns from the dead
demon possession
hypnosis
blackmail
it was all a dream
mental illness
split personalities
cults
self-defense (doubtful for a serial killer)
he/she/they fell on the knife
it was really suicide
I was framed
I'VE GOT IT!
A creature from Mars hotwired the NASA Rover and "drove" through the solar system back to Earth, landed in Salem, took over Marlena's physical body so it could explore without being detected, and it's not killing its victims because it's really just removing everything from their outer Earthly shells and taking the "stuff" back with it to Mars so that NASA will eventually get a glimpse of life-forms on Mars and report to us Earthlings that Martians resemble us physiologically on the inside.
Then again, the whole evil twin thing you mentioned could be the twist, in a twisted way. I don't know if it's been done before. Maybe Tony's evil twin has actually been the serial killer all along. And he's been seeing Dr. Evans (Marlena) for therapy to try to understand his homicidal drive. And because of patient-physician privilege, she can't divulge what she knows to anyone. So in an effort to stop the madness, she kills him. But then everyone assumes she's the killer and she can't prove otherwise, which is weird because weren't all the other victims stabbed whereas Tony is going to be killed with a poisonous injection? So the fact that the method of killing Tony is different than the previous killers methods (unless they've been killed in other ways besides stabbing) leads me to think Marlena is NOT actually the killer at all. So when they say the killer is going to be revealed today, they're actually teasing us because we won't know the full truth until later.
So, it's sort of an evil twin/mental illness twist (which has been done before), but with a further twist in that someone else will be framed for the other murders simply because she is caught committing the most recent crime.
Ugh...I don't know. It's hard to imagine what they have up their sleeves.

Yup, got it all on tape.
Weird...very weird. It didn't all make sense to me. I'm going to need to watch it again because the ENTIRE episode was all about the killer and I got lost trying to figure out some of the details.
Questions --
Is Nicole Kiriakis the daughter of Victor or a niece or some other relative? If she's his daughter, who's her mother?
Who's the new chick that Judi Evans is playing? She used to be Adrienne and she dated Justin, right? That was on Days, right, or am I remember her from another soap? I know she was also on Guiding Light a long time ago. And why is she with Mickey? Wasn't Maggie with Mickey? Maggie just died, right? Did he get over his grief that fast?
When did Hope become a cop also?
Like I said, I've got to watch it again when I get a chance to absorb it. The nuttiest thing was that part of the time Marlena was out in the hospital lobby talking with John (Drake Hogestyn is John Black, right? Not Roman and not any other name now?) And then part of the time, the killer could be seen as a dark silhouette behind the curtain in Tony's room while Lexi was treating him. How could Marlena be both places at once? And why on earth did she need to ditch the mask and sweatshirt while wearing a lab coat and gloves? Okay, gloves make sense because she didn't want to leave prints. But labcoat?? She's DR. Marlena Evans, well-known Salem shrink. She doesn't need to wear a labcoat. No one cares that she's walking around the hospital. She belongs there anyway. The labcoat would have made her look more suspicious because usually only psych residents would wear labcoats while making rotations and so forth. Well-established faculty and staff who aren't dealing with blood and body fluids and physical exams and so forth (like psychiatrists) don't usually wear a labcoat. It gives them a less clinical look so the patients feel more at ease to talk with them. Ugh...I've rambled.
It was just cheesy! One minute she's one place, the next minute she's somewhere else, and then the next minute she's back again. It wasn't very smooth. Maybe there were twins?
And since she's a well-known physician at Salem General, it's obvious that she would have keys with her and that's how she could get into the pharmacy "closet" (I'm not even gonna start to vent on that one
). But just why didn't anyone except the guard notice her going into this "guarded" patient's room? And why did he let her in since, as Roman put it, the guard have never seen her before? Not much of a guard, is he? I'd fire his butt!
*shaking head*
I'll watch it again later. I'm going to go watch Becker now and see how it ends.
