lol, yeah YOU because your snow keeps arriving in wet envelopes.;) Ya gotta insulate it. hehe
Also to Dennis and anyone else who wouldn't mind sharing a little snow with us deep southerners.

blizzard, you in your swimsuit in zero degree temps...are you crazy?
Santa suit...bathing suit - there is something in between ya know.;)

Morning everyone! A warm morning here, sitting at 64° with hopes and dreams of Arctic air next weekend mixed with some precipitation. :D At this point it's possible, but that's still so far away. I'll keep my snow dance going though and maybe with a little help from others, we just might see some winter weather down here next weekend. However, that would probably be a nightmare since the Superbowl is here. Nobody here has a clue how to drive in snow and though we've had more experience with icy roads, that's not very common either.

I'll just grab some french vanilla coffee and sit by the fire to pretend I need warming up. :)

You will probably get that snow next week with the SuperBowl in town...hehehe that's how it usually works. Good luck in the snow department, hope some arrives there soon.

Hey ya'll. I'm excited, I'm getting ready for my first Mardi Gras ball tonight. :)

Louisiana is a very cool state when it comes to our special events.

We're having a heck of a rain system pushing through though. Hope it stops long enough to get from the car to the ball!

Has anyon around here been active in a Mardi Gras Krewe or festivities? Have a great rest of the weekend!

What a gorgeous day we had today....71*! We've decided to take a trip tomorrow, and are looking for the closest snow...looks like Oklahoma City is the closest, but I'm not sure we want to go in that direction. Wonder where we'll end up...we only have 3 days.

The Mardi Gras bal was incredible lastnight. Such pagentry and drama! Email me if you're interested in seeing pictures, they're great fun!

Ya'll with snow, enjoy it!

Good morning from AZ. Chilly 38 here this morning, but highs of 60+ this week will make great weather for the FBR Phoenix Open golf tournament next weekend. As always, if you get a chance to channel surf and see the tourney on TV next weekend, I'd remind you that you'll be hanging around my hood in that MetLife blimp! We live just a few minutes from the site of the event.

Mardis Gras...glad you had a great time Furry! You always have fun partying...but be safe on your road trip!

Have a good week everyone else. ...and be safe, too.

Hey gang!

Haven't been here in a few days.

Furry - I'd like to go to the Mardi Gras sometime. I hope you had a great time!

You guys in the Deep South gotta MOVE NORTH if you want to see snow!!! I think I ended up with about 4 inches at my house, more down here in Atlantic City. The roads are not the greatest, but passable. I'm concerned about the next two days with the freezing rain and perhaps another round of snow coming my way.

Not much has been happening for me. My niece, Nicole has started basketball again so I've been going to see her games. I always enjoy watching her play. Her uncle, my sister in law's brother, came to a game with his wife a week ago for the first time. He was snapping pictures, cheering for Nicole, etc. and she was getting so embarrassed! I called him the "Uncle from hell". Both of us are Nicole's godparents as well. We're so proud!

Anyway, everyone in the middle of the winter storm PLEASE be careful and have a great day!

Its too darn cold...we didn't go anywhere. Infact, its even too cold to go downstairs! lol

Tbis weather system is crazy! I do wish we'd have seen some snow tho, or it had been within 4 hrs of us.

The Mardi Gras celebrations will be going until Fat Tuesday, up until the beggining of Lent. We have the Centuar Ball to attend this weekend. Thank God I've got a collection of ball gowns for all the cruises we've gone on! Its an exciting time in Shreveport!

Now, It's time for some hot cocoa and warm KK's!

Hey Shannon, we just booked our first cruise over spring break, and I am egggggg-cited! It's on Carnival Conquest leaving out of New Orleans and doing western Carib. - mostly because I heard they are more kid friendly, and there are no airfare specials into FL over spring break. Gee, I wonder why? We're going to drive down, about 9 hrs or so based on my husband's avg driving speed. (He thinks he's in NASCAR)
I'll probably be sending you a PM when it gets closer for advice on what to bring, etc.

Enjoy Mardi Gras!!! :Partytime:

You know I'm glad to share my knowledge on cruising with you...email me whenever you're ready. We'll have to have a Bon Voyage party for you, ok?

Hey Donna...the cruise sounds great. We're trying to convince our youngest son to take a cruise later this spring with his friends from Arizona and elsewhere. I wish you and your husband the best!

We may look at an invitation we have to take an Alaskan cruise in September OR head to Orlando in November. Too early to determine which way for sure.

I still think a cruise where those Storm2k members who want to sign on can do so...and enjoy the company of others for a few days. Those of you with the most cruise experience should get the idea going...and see if by chance there are any takers. Allow at least six months for planning!

Yeah Steve, wouldn't that be a blast?!! Heck, I'd be happy if we all just met for coffee someday!
I found the best rates for cruises are Jan/Feb. Not a bad time of year to go somewhere tropical!
Not matter what, I do believe we'll have a Storm2K get together somehow, someday, somewhere. I, for one, will definitely be there! :D

I've found that Jan is a great month to cruise reasonably. Also around the end of hurricane season low prices are offered. We don't currently have a cruise booked, haven't found the absolute rock bottom prices of the season yet! We'll more than likely cruise with the kids from now on, because they enjoy it so much, and have the freedom to do so. (Another home schooling advantage). We are leaving for a quick trip to Florida tho, this Sunday, late departure. See ya'll in Daytona! :) We go back to Daytona in March for Bike eek, but that trip is with friends, no kids...Hoping for more reasonable temps in FL!

CajunMama...have a GREAT trip to FL yourself! We'll probaly pass you on the road somewhere! Good Luck to your daughter.

You're going to have a wonderful time Donna! I've only been on one cruise and it was also with Carnival - the Fascination. It set sail from San Juan and we went through the Virgin Islands. It was wonderful and so relaxing. What's really great is that everything is included but the drinks. They give you a card to use to you can put all of your drink purchases on your account and they will bill your credit card.

With this weather, I'd take just about any kind of vacation to a place that's warm now. My Ft. Lauderdale trip isn't until the end of March. HOPEFULLY, we won't have anymore snow when I get back, like I did last year when I went to Mexico in March.

The drive to work today wasn't too bad. It took me and extra 15 minutes to get there, but for the most part, the roads were in pretty good shape. We had about three inches of snow from that storm system last night. I don't know how many of you read this in the Winter Weather forum, but there were quite a few of us that experienced thunder and lightning last night while we were getting the freezing rain and sleet. My poor dog, Rudy, jumped up in my lap after he heard the thunder!

Anyway, I hope everyone is well. Has anyone heard from Dennis??

Thanks Steph! That sounds like a great cruise you had. I'd like to do the Eastern Caribbean next time. Heck, I'd be happy just going down the mocha-brown Ohio River if it gets me out of the house! Enjoy Florida in March!
What a blast about the thunder/lightning! I had the same thing Monday night. Made my week! :D

Shannon - Have a great trip home to (hopefully) warm Daytona!!!! I still dream about the days I'd park on the beach with my chef salad from Pat's Riverfront Cafe, beachside Port Orange. *drools* Bring one back for me, would ya?
